DENVER, CO, February 06, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- George Brokalakis has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Brokalakis, originally from Greece, earned a distinguished reputation in the hospitality industry. After relocating to the United States at age 18, he launched his career by managing three grocery stores for a family member. Demonstrating an early aptitude for business operations and customer service, he soon transitioned into the food service sector, first operating a soup and sandwich shop and later managing a burger restaurant. These formative experiences forged the foundation for Mr. Brokalakis's future entrepreneurial ventures.
In 1983, Mr. Brokalakis moved to Colorado, where he opened a Greek restaurant that became known for its vibrant atmosphere and live music. This small business venture reflected his commitment to sharing Greek culture and cuisine with the local community. Building on this success, in 1987 he founded Crown Burgers, a restaurant that quickly earned a reputation for quality and welcoming hospitality. Mr. Brokalakis took great pride in every facet of his comprehensive leadership role, and he considered the success of the business as one of his most significant professional achievements. Notably, Mr. Brokalakis's son assisted him at work from a young age and later assumed responsibility for the restaurant.
Beyond his work in restaurants, Mr. Brokalakis made significant contributions to sports in Utah by founding the Utah Golden Spikers, the first professional soccer team in Salt Lake City. His leadership extended into industry organizations as well, as Mr. Brokalakis was an active member of both the Pancretan Association of America and the American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association.
Driven to serve, Mr. Brokalakis humbly volunteered for the Greek Orthodox Church in Denver, Colorado, where he contributed to church activities and community outreach, an involvement he always regarded as one of his proudest accomplishments. Additionally, Mr. Brokalakis volunteered at Samaritan House and supported various fundraisers and community initiatives throughout his life.
Mr. Brokalakis proudly completed coursework in business at Westminster College, gaining knowledge that helped shape his approach to management and entrepreneurship. His many achievements in the small business community were acknowledged through several honors, including Best of Denver, recognition from the Colorado State Senate and an award for outstanding contribution and dedication to his church. Mr. Brokalakis attributed his personal and professional success to a passion for excellence, an enduring commitment to integrity and honesty, and a strong work ethic.
On a personal level, Mr. Brokalakis deeply valued family life and was known for acts of generosity, such as ensuring that those in need who entered his restaurant received a meal. He enjoyed engaging in community work as well as coaching soccer and basketball. His legacy continues through his son, Dimitri George Brokalakis, who plans to operate Crown Burgers at its current location while seeking opportunities for expansion within Colorado.
