Mr. Sanchez has established a distinguished career marked by expertise in writing and a steadfast commitment to public service and national security. Since 2006, he has been a published author and poet, writing columns for Substack, contributing poetry and commentary on LinkedIn, and authoring articles on X.

Prior to his current endeavors, Mr. Sanchez served as an acting Security Director, counterintelligence program manager, deputy security director, and original and derivative classifier at the Department of Energy, Strategic Petroleum Reserve from 1978 to 2001. Throughout his tenure, he maintained a low profile while making significant contributions to the protection of critical infrastructure.

A meaningful part of Mr. Sanchez's life was his military service. He was a supervisor of naval reserve records at the United States Navy Reserve Center from 1973 until 1978, overseeing vital personnel documentation and supporting operational readiness. Between 1962 and 1972, he rose in the ranks and served as a staff sergeant in the United States Marine Corps, where he demonstrated leadership and discipline in Vietnam and beyond that would inform his later roles in both civilian and government sectors. His dedication was recognized with the Navy Commendation Medal with Combat V, the Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Gallantry Cross with Palm Unit Citation, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, four Good Conduct Medals, the National Defense Service Medal and the Meritorious Unit Commendation, and multiple rifle marksman and pistol sharpshooter medals.

He was included in Who's Who in Colleges in 1977. He subsequently earned a Bachelor of Science Degree (BS) in English, History and Social Sciences with cum laude and Salutatorian honors from the University of Holy Cross in 1980.
