Prior to focusing on real estate, Ms. O'Shields established herself throughout a lengthy career in financial services, insurance and sales. She holds qualifications as a general securities representative (Series 7) and a uniform securities agent (Series 63) through the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority Inc. Ms. O'Shields most recently utilized those credentials as vice president of national sales at WellVisor and regional sales executive at Wellfleet. She dedicated more than 15 years to working as a sales broker with Aflac between 2003 and 2024, with a four-year break during which she took on the role of vice president of sales at MyIdealDoctor (now RelyMD). Ms. O'Shields' earlier experiences in financial services include tenures as a salesperson at Ralph Lauren and a registered sales assistant at Deutsche Bank, PaineWebber, and Credit Suisse. She began her professional journey as a registered sales assistant with First Boston Corporation in 1992.

Alongside her primary vocation, Ms. O'Shields has demonstrated a commitment to civic advocacy in her everyday life. She has served as the president of her local homeowners association since 2015 and makes regular contributions to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, Inc. and The Children's Village through Christian City. Ms. O'Shields previously served as a board member and vice chair at S.H.A.R.E. House for several years and has offered mentorship through Youth Leadership Douglas County. She has also been heavily involved in the education system, providing guidance to the Douglas County School System as a committee secretary, advisory council member and part of the school council for Chapel Hill High School.

Outside of her career, Ms. O'Shields is a loving mother to a 25-year-old daughter, whom she notes as her greatest inspiration. In her free time, Ms. O'Shields enjoys entertaining friends, gardening, reading, traveling and spending time with her beloved service dog, Lucky.
