Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Lee has established a distinguished career in education, military service and community leadership. Since 2012, he has dedicated himself to teaching, beginning as a mathematics teacher and later advancing to roles that emphasize career readiness and technical education.

In his current position as a career and technical education (CTE) teacher at Otay Ranch Senior High School, Mr. Lee serves as a CTE teacher and coordinator. He teaches three engineering classes that focus on work-based and project-based learning, providing students with valuable internship and field trip opportunities to prepare them for future careers. His commitment to student development is evident in his efforts to bridge classroom instruction with real-world experience.

In addition, he founded a non-profit organization called Marriage and Family Enrichment Foundation with a mission to equip couples, parents, and youth with the knowledge and life skills necessary to build strong, resilient families and break cycles of dysfunction.

Prior to his current roles, Mr. Lee taught mathematics within the Sweetwater Union High School District beginning in 2017, where he contributed to the academic growth of students by fostering analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. His teaching career began in 2012 as a mathematics teacher and transitioned to become a CTE teacher in 2018 with an emphasis in engineering, information technology and business, where he laid the foundation for his educational philosophy centered on student work-based learning engagement and practical application of knowledge.

Mr. Lee's professional journey is also marked by a 30-year tenure in the United States Navy from 1990 to 2020, serving both on active duty and in the reserves. Throughout his military career, he was deployed to Iraq, Afghanistan, and Djibouti, earning numerous military awards, including the Afghanistan Campaign Medal. He is most proud of this period of service, viewing it as his most notable achievement.

Shaped by these international experiences, Mr. Lee developed a strong commitment to helping younger generations understand the meaning of freedom, an ideal he believes must be actively valued rather than taken for granted. He often cites President Ronald Reagan's warning that freedom is fragile and only one generation away from being lost, a principle that continues to guide his work with students and young adults in the community.

In addition to his teaching and military service, Mr. Lee spent more than 12 years consulting for the United States Navy in San Diego, further strengthening his expertise in organizational operations and strategic planning. He is an active member of the US Navy Supply Corps Foundation, the Naval War College Foundation and serving on the Advisory Board of the San Diego Young Catholic Professionals organization, reflecting his ongoing engagement with professional organizations related to his field.

Mr. Lee's academic background includes a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island, earned in 2015. In 2001, he earned a Master of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Information Systems from San Diego State University. His foundational training began with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 1991. To further support his educational endeavors, Mr. Lee obtained a Career and Technical Education certification in 2018.

Reflecting on his career, Mr. Lee attributes much of his success to being surrounded by people who guided him toward meaningful opportunities, as well as to his faith and strong Catholic upbringing. He views it as a blessing to live in America, where faith, family, and freedom are deeply interconnected. Having journeyed from periods of brokenness and hopelessness to personal and professional success, he credits the opportunities America has afforded him. Grounded in his Christian faith, Mr. Lee continues to find hope and purpose and strives to be a beacon of hope for others.

Beyond his professional achievements, Mr. Lee is committed to civic engagement and community enrichment. He is the founder of the Marriage and Family Enrichment Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to restoring values and reconciling brokenness within families. This mission was inspired by his personal journey of escaping communism at age fourteen by boat, before being rescued by a submarine in 1981.

Mr. Lee's involvement extends to teaching youth group catechism classes focused on social and emotional learning at his local Catholic church, where he helps guide young people toward personal growth rooted in faith-based principles. Additionally, he supports Turning Point USA Inc., reflecting his dedication to promoting civic awareness among younger generations.

As an author, Mr. Lee published "Gift of Faith: A Foretaste of Heaven" in 2022, sharing insights drawn from his life experiences and spiritual journey. Outside his professional endeavors, he enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, camping and sightseeing, as well as playing sports and spending quality time with family.

Looking ahead, Mr. Lee aims to strengthen marriages and families while connecting with second-generation Americans to raise awareness of the value of freedom. He seeks to restore America's core values of God, family and country, and strives for the nation to remain a beacon of hope and light for the world by returning to its foundational principles of faith, family and patriotism.
