COLORADO SPRINGS, CO, February 20, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Gina Temple, PhD, FACHE, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Dr. Temple's distinguished career in health care leadership spans more than 15 years, marked by a steady progression through increasingly senior roles and a commitment to fostering high-trust relationships within her teams. Since 2024, she has served as president of St. Francis Hospital and St. Francis Hospital Interquest within the CommonSpirit Mountain Region, where she is responsible for strategic direction and cultivating a culture of trustworthiness among staff and stakeholders. In her capacity, she draws upon her extensive background in both clinical and executive leadership to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care while ensuring her teams are empowered to thrive.

Prior to assuming the presidency at St. Francis, Dr. Temple excelled as the chief executive officer of Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) Healthcare from 2019 to 2024. Managing a staff of more than 1,600, she led significant initiatives focused on operational integration, quality improvement and workforce engagement, with her leadership proving pivotal in driving performance metrics and enhancing patient satisfaction by more than 30%. Her impact was recognized when HCA received the Patient Safety Excellence Award from Healthgrades and named among America's 50 best hospitals for vascular surgery.

From 2016 to 2019, Dr. Temple held the position of hospital president and Texas group chief operating officer at Tenet Healthcare Corporation in San Antonio. Overseeing a network of 13 hospitals and more than 5,500 beds, she managed multiple facilities, implementing best practices in hospital administration and leading multidisciplinary teams through complex transitions. Her efforts contributed to a 7% reduction in employee turnover as well as an operation room expansion of nearly 10%.

Dr. Temple also served as vice president of operational integration at Sutter Health from 2015 to 2016, during which she managed large-scale projects aimed at streamlining processes and increased net revenue by a remarkable $50 million. Her earlier roles at Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital included chief nurse executive and director of ancillary services from 2012 to 2015, as well as regional director of organizational performance and service excellence from 2010 to 2012.

Though her journey counts many milestones, Dr. Temple is particularly proud of her ability to cultivate genuine, high-trust relationships — an achievement that not only defines her leadership style but also served as the focus of her doctoral research. With a family background steeped in service — her father, grandfather, sister and husband all served in various branches of the United States military — she feels privileged to utilize her own strengths within the military-friendly St. Francis Hospital.

Hailing from an equally accomplished academic background, Dr. Temple earned a Doctor of Philosophy in applied management and decision sciences from Walden University, which provided her with the advanced analytical skills essential for evidence-based decision making in health care management. She also obtained a Master of Public Administration in health care administration from the University of West Florida as well as a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of South Alabama, establishing her clinical acumen and deepening her understanding of frontline patient care.

To augment her qualifications, Dr. Temple is certified as a registered nurse and has been recognized as a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE). Also happy to share her knowledge through various mediums, she has contributed multiple scholarly articles on health care and best practices in nursing management leadership, with her works appearing in influential publications such as Academia.edu and Globe Thesis.

Along with her education, Dr. Temple attributes her success in health care management to three core leadership qualities: accountability, discipline and focus. She consistently reinforces these principles within her teams while relying on relentless determination to achieve goals that center on service quality, always mindful that every data point represents real individuals whose lives are impacted by health care decisions.

Continuing her family's outstanding impact, Dr. Temple is well-known for her civic involvement; she served as a federal-level examiner in 2006 and 2010, contributing her expertise in organizational performance assessment of Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award nominees. She has also participated on the United States Military Service Academy Admissions Board and volunteered with the Military Affairs Council, expanding her lifelong commitment to supporting military families and future leaders.

Dr. Temple's widespread achievements in health care have seen her recognized with numerous accolades, including two President's Awards from Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital in 2014 and 2015, the International Nurses Association Award, the Worldwide Leader in Healthcare Award and recognition as Trauma Nurse of the Year early in her career — a distinction that inspired her transition from direct patient care into executive leadership.

Born in Cave-In-Rock, a small village in Illinois, Dr. Temple's upbringing was shaped by parents who were dedicated to service — her father as a minister and her mother as a licensed practical nurse — which influenced both her own path and those of her siblings who also became registered nurses. Her early experiences working as a trauma nurse specialist in Pensacola, Florida, introduced her to influential leaders such as Quint Studer whose mentorship helped shape her approach to nurturing a healthy organizational culture.

Happily married and a proud mother of two sons, Dr. Temple cherishes spending time with her family and enjoys traveling as a balance to her professional responsibilities. Looking to the future with determination, she aspires to advance into a market- or regional-chief executive officer role overseeing multiple hospitals, aiming to broaden her impact on health care delivery by serving communities, families and colleagues on an even greater scale.
