KNOXVILLE, TN, February 23, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Pakesta C. Washington, MSN Ed., RN, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mrs. Washington has established herself as a dedicated professional nurse educator and advocate, currently serving as a professional nurse educator for her business Washington Elite Nursing Consultants since 2023. In this capacity, she begins each day with prayer and reflection, followed by preparing educational materials and presentations for her students. Her expertise in tutoring is widely recognized, and she is praised for her commitment to advancing the academic success of nursing students. Her primary focus is mental health with an emphasis on bipolar disorder. She advocates for her nursing students stigma reduction, acceptance, and emotional wellness. In addition, she advocates for single mothers pursuing nursing education through academic support and resource connections.

Beyond her educational role, Mrs. Washington demonstrates strong business acumen through the development of a comprehensive wellness program for hospital nurses. This program integrates stress management, on-site fitness, nutritional support and ongoing health education. Originally conceived years earlier, the initiative was revived after she recognized its renewed potential to significantly improve nurses' health and overall well-being.

Since 2010, Mrs. Washington has also been a passionate mental health advocate. Diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2010, she has used her personal experiences to educate others and reduce stigma surrounding mental illness. As a motivational speaker, she addresses audiences on topics related to mental health, access to care and the challenges faced by individuals living with bipolar disorder.

Mrs. Washington's ability to connect with listeners—whether at mental health events or college presentations—has been one of her most significant achievements. Through sharing her story, she has fostered understanding and encouraged others to share their own experiences, making a profound impact on those affected by mental health conditions.

From 2019 to 2024, Mrs. Washington served as an adjunct professor at a local community college in Knoxville, Tennessee. During this period, she was recognized with a certificate of recognition for her contributions to nursing education and was invited by students to be a speaker at the institution. While teaching at the institution, employment restrictions limited Mrs. Washington's ability to tutor students directly. This challenge led her to establish an independent nursing tutoring program that offers personalized support and mentorship, with a focus on assisting single mothers in need of affordable educational guidance.

Mrs. Washington's academic journey began with an Associate Degree in Nursing from Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee, in 2010. She continued her studies at King University in Bristol, Tennessee, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2014 and completed a master's degree in nursing education in 2019. She is also an inductee of the honor society at King University in both 2014 and 2019, a testament to her academic excellence and leadership within the field.

Known for her commitment to the field, Mrs. Washington's professional affiliations include involvement with the American Heart Association and the National Alliance on Mental Illness. These associations reflect her dedication to both clinical practice and community engagement.

In addition to her educational work, she actively mentors and supports single mothers pursuing nursing careers by offering academic assistance, resource guidance, and encouragement to help them persist and graduate. Through professional speaking, community engagement, and ongoing mentorship, she promotes mental health stigma reduction and fosters supportive learning environments for students and faculty living with mental illness. Her efforts focus on strengthening nursing education, improving student retention, and empowering future nurses to succeed both personally and professionally.

Outside her professional commitments, Mrs. Washington enjoys reading, writing and dancing. Looking ahead, she envisions acquiring a house that can be transformed into a dedicated tutoring space for students, a welcoming environment where learners can study comfortably and have access to resources such as a kitchen for meal preparation. Her goal is to provide affordable tutoring services that foster academic growth and create a supportive haven for students pursuing their educational aspirations.
