Mr. Ghanekar's most notable professional achievement is the founding and development of Ubiquity, a company dedicated to bridging digital divide by building open-access fiber networks in underserved suburban areas. When he co-founded Ubiquity in 2019, the initial expectation was to deploy approximately $100 million in capital; however, over the subsequent years, he along with his partner successfully secured nearly $1 billion in invested capital for the business. This accomplishment reflects not only financial success but also a three-dimensional impact: improving communities by providing high-speed connectivity to households and companies, creating generational infrastructure with a projected usable life of 30 to 50 years that will benefit future generations and generating hundreds of jobs through infrastructure investment. This milestone is particularly significant for Mr. Ghanekar, as it marked his transition from a promising corporate career at Verizon to entrepreneurial leadership focused on making a tangible difference in communities.

Prior to his current role, Mr. Ghanekar held several key leadership positions at Verizon. From 2014 to 2018 he served as executive director of network, where he was responsible for overseeing capex and opex budget, network engineering initiatives and ensuring optimal network performance.

From 2013 to 2014, Mr. Ghanekar was director of network engineering at Verizon, where he led teams responsible for designing and implementing advanced telecommunications infrastructure. His previous tenure as director of network system performance from 2011 to 2013 further solidified his expertise in optimizing large-scale network systems. He first joined Verizon as a manager of system performance from 2009 to 2011, focusing on maintaining high standards for service quality and operational excellence.

Before joining Verizon, Mr. Ghanekar contributed significantly to Sprint Nextel Communications (now T-Mobile USA Inc.), where he worked from 2003 to 2009. He began as a senior radio frequency engineer before advancing to manager of radio frequency engineering. During this tenure, he received top-level recognition from the chief executive officer through the Top Dog Recognition award for outstanding performance.

Mr. Ghanekar's earlier roles include serving as senior manager of corporate network at Tata Teleservices from 2002 to 2003 and senior consultant at Marconi Wireless (now Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson) from 2000 to 2002. He began his professional journey as deputy manager at BPL Mobile (GSM) from 1995 to 2000.

Academically, Mr. Ghanekar's background includes a master's degree in financial management from the University of Mumbai in India earned in 2000 and a bachelor's degree in electrical and electronics engineering from the same institution, completed in 1995. His accomplishments have been recognized with various awards throughout his career.

Mr. Ghanekar attributes his success to an unwavering commitment to excellence, never settling for mediocrity and always pursuing new challenges within the telecommunications industry since entering the field in 1995.
