His entrepreneurial instincts emerged early. While still in college, he launched a lipstick cart in a local mall, and shortly after graduation began repairing and flipping homes. He later joined his uncle at PCdisposal.com, gaining hands-on experience in technology recycling, before co-founding Titan Radio with a business partner. Together, they went on to build out several related ventures — including Dollar Radio Rentals and HD Headsets — firmly establishing Mr. McConnell as a driving force in the two-way radio communications space.

Education played a significant role in shaping Mr. McConnell's approach to business development, marketing, and client service. In 2005, he earned a Bachelor of Applied Science in Education, with a minor in Communications, from Weber State University in Ogden, Utah — graduating as Education Major of the Year. His academic foundation provided practical expertise in communication strategy and instructional design that has informed his work throughout his career.

Mr. McConnell's achievements have been recognized through numerous honors. During his time at Weber State University, he was named team captain of the football team, received the Academic Athlete of the Year award, and was presented with the Kevin Lapa Award — a distinction voted on by teammates and coaches that recognizes the team's most inspirational player.
