Dr. Tarchichi has established a distinguished career in education and educational leadership, currently serving as the Superintendent of Schools and Principal for Delanco Township School District in Delanco, New Jersey, since 2025. In this capacity, he is responsible for managing daily operations, handling discipline issues, finalizing board agendas, covering classes and, among other obligations, assisting students with high school applications and standardized exam preparation. Dr. Tarchichi's commitment to reliability is evident in his record of never missing a day of work, underscoring his reputation as a dependable administrator.
Before earning an opportunity in Delanco, Dr. Tarchichi served as the chief school administrator at the Mary A. Dobbins School District in Hainesport from 2024 to 2025. During this tenure, he was instrumental in the school's turnaround, reflecting his expertise in revitalizing educational environments, and creating vocational programs for special education students, a master schedule for all students, and a Child Study Team for the school. He also implemented a Behavior Modification Program, instituted sports programs, hired administrators, created a teacher salary guide, and worked with the Department of Education to bring the school into compliance with the students.
From 2016 to 2024, Dr. Tarchichi served as the superintendent of schools for Pennsauken Public Schools. Under his guidance, high school enrollment increased from 1,100 to 1,600 students. He established over 20 new vocational programs, including Automotive Technology, Carpentry, Cosmetology, Culinary Arts, Baking, Electrical Construction, Welding, Criminal Justice, Air Force JROTC, HVACR, EMT & Fire Safety, Fashion & Design, and Health Occupations. Dr. Tarchichi also transformed the closed Roosevelt School into the Roosevelt STEM School and within two years of reopening, the school became Pennsauken's first-ever number-one-ranked school based on New Jersey Accountability Scores. Due to these changes, Pennsauken Public Schools ,for the first time in their history ,has a state-ranked school. Furthermore, Pennsauken's facilities now stand alone in South Jersey and are a major reason students are returning to the district. Due to the changes implemented by Dr. Tarchichi, students in Pennsauken are not only receiving up to 60 college credits before they graduate from high school, but also obtaining vocational certifications and licensure. Now, many Pennsauken students are earning Associate Degrees before they graduate from high school and are hired into top-paying vocational positions upon graduation, thanks to the vocational training they receive in high school. Overall, during Dr. Tarchichi's eight-year tenure in Pennsauken Public Schools, more than $70,000,000.00 was added to the district.
Dr. Tarchichi previously served as both the Superintendent of Schools and Principal for the Woodlynne School District from 2013 to 2016. In earlier positions, he excelled as the vice principal at Salem County Vocational Technical Schools Foundation Inc. between 2012 and 2013 and as the supervisor of secondary education at Mercer County Technical Schools from 2010 to 2012. Dr. Tarchichi began his career as an educator, teaching health and physical education, chemistry, biological and physical sciences, and environmental science at several different schools in New Jersey and Philadelphia, starting in 2004. Dr. Tarchichi brought the Woodlynne School District out of a state takeover and brought student achievement to an all-time high. Student standardized test scores rose dramatically with students moving into proficiency for the first time in many years. This was echoed by the District's QSAC indicator "Instruction and Program's" increase in over 50 percentage points before his departure to Pennsauken. In the Woodlynne School District, there were tremendous savings in budget expenditures and a total upgrade of district facilities, with more than $3,000,000.00 added to the district.
Dr. Tarchichi's extensive academic background reflects his dedication to lifelong learning. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology with a minor in Biology from West Virginia University in 2004. From there, he earned a Master of Education in Physical Education and Exercise Science from The College of New Jersey in 2005, followed by a Master of Science in Biology from Rutgers University and a Masters in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 2008, a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from The College of New Jersey in 2011, a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Rowan University in 2016, a Master of Arts in Special Education and a Master of Arts in Learning Disabilities from Rowan University in 2018, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Education & Special Education from Temple University in 2020. Additionally, aside from his administrative certifications, Dr. Tarchichi holds certifications in Biology, Chemistry, Special Education, Drivers Education, Health & Physical Education, Culinary Arts, and Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant, which have further enabled him to support general education students and special education students with diverse learning needs.
Active in his professional community, Dr. Tarchichi is a member of the American Association of School Administrators, the School Superintendents Association and the New Jersey Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultants Organization. Beyond his professional responsibilities, he has demonstrated civic engagement through various organizations. He supports Scouting America and acts as a youth coach through volunteerism. He also volunteers by providing free tests to students with special needs across multiple school districts.
Throughout his career, Dr. Tarchichi has developed expertise in rebuilding school districts and implementing strategies for school turnaround. His achievements have been honored with several accolades, including a Recognition Award for School District Turnaround at Woodlynne School District in 2014, a Courageous Leadership Award from Pennsauken Public Schools in 2020, a Superintendent Academic Achievement Award at Pennsauken Public Schools in 2024, and a Recognition Award for School Turnaround at Mary A. Dobbins School District in 2025. Dr. Tarchichi attributes his success to his faith and to the positive examples set by his parents for him and his siblings. Initially planning to attend medical school after earning his bachelor's degree, he discovered a passion for teaching and continued to excel in the field.
Looking ahead, Dr. Tarchichi aims make significant contributions to Delanco Township Public Schools by supporting students facing challenges.
