Dr. Pavelko is a general and bariatric surgeon whose work spans clinical practice, academic medicine and health care innovation. Since 2023, he has served as a clinical assistant professor of surgery at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC), where he teaches surgical trainees and contributes to research and surgical education.

In 2023, Dr. Pavelko co-founded Inviah Inc., where he serves as chief executive officer. Inviah is focused on redesigning health care access through a physician-led, technology-enabled platform aimed at bringing diagnostics and care closer to patients. A key milestone has been the launch of a partnership with Quest Laboratory, allowing patients to receive blood work on-site without visiting a hospital. As co-founder, Dr. Pavelko oversees the mission, clinical direction of the company, future development and vision ensuring that innovation remains grounded in medical standards, safety and measurable patient outcomes.

From 2023 to 2024, Dr. Pavelko served as a general surgeon at OSF HealthCare after completing a Fellowship Council-accredited bariatric surgery clinical fellowship at UIC from 2022 to 2023. The year prior, he completed a clinical fellowship in minimally invasive and robotic surgery at the same institution, further strengthening his expertise in advanced surgical techniques.

Earlier in his career, he was a clinical research specialist fellow at UIC and served as chief executive officer and co-owner of P&P Medical Surgical LLC from 2015 to 2019. He began his surgical career at Lviv National Medical University "Danylo Halycky" in Ukraine from 2013 to 2014 before immigrating to the United States.

Dr. Pavelko earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Lviv National Medical University in 2010 and completed his general surgery residency there in 2013. From 2017 to 2018, he was a research fellow at the University of Chicago, focusing on evidence-based surgical research. He is an active member of the American College of Surgeons, the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons.

Raised in a multigenerational family of physicians, Dr. Pavelko represents the fourth generation of doctors in his family. He often credits discipline, consistency and focus as the driving forces behind his career, emphasizing the importance of setting clear priorities and maintaining steady progress.

In addition to his professional work, he volunteers with Revived Soldiers Ukraine, supporting humanitarian efforts for those affected by conflict. He has been recognized for his service as a member of Ukraine and for providing care to physicians affiliated with the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

Outside of his clinical and entrepreneurial work, Dr. Pavelko leads a full and engaged life. He enjoys travel, meaningful conversations over well-crafted meals, and a long-standing passion for automobiles.
