CLARKSTON, MI, March 03, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jesse R. Schmidt has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Schmidt has been serving as the vice president of engineering at IZA Design & Manufacturing since 2015. With over three decades of experience as a packaging engineer, he is recognized for his expertise in bridging the gap between engineering and sales while ensuring that customers understand both technical and commercial aspects of their projects.

In this leadership position, Mr. Schmidt's responsibilities include collaborating closely with the vice president of sales, traveling regularly to Canada, various locations in the United States, and Mexico to support business development and engineering innovation. His reputation for integrity and reliability is well established within the industry. He is known for consistently delivering on his promises and proactively resolving challenges. His commitment to helping others find solutions has defined his professional persona, earning him respect among peers and clients alike.

Prior to joining IZA Design & Manufacturing, Mr. Schmidt was associated with Geometric Americas, formerly known as Modern Engineering from 2003 to 2015, during which time he held several key positions. Starting in 2014, he was a client partner for FCA, General Motors, as well as tool design customers such as Kuka, Comau, and Paslin. Here, he managed client relationships and delivered tailored engineering solutions that met the evolving needs of automotive manufacturers. As the director of material handling and rack design from 2009 to 2012, he led initiatives to optimize logistics and packaging systems for major automotive clients.

When he was a senior program manager throughout his tenure with Geometric Americas, Mr. Schmidt oversaw complex engineering projects and managed cross-functional teams, playing a pivotal part in developing innovative packaging solutions. During this time, he was fortunate enough to lead a joint launch team from Geometric Americas and the Chrysler Jeep Plant that collaborated on a "JIT" parts delivery system reducing delivery time to the line as well as the tear down and reman of a sequence center over a weekend.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Schmidt completed an internship in packaging testing at Lansmont Corporation from 1995 to 1996. This experience led to his role as Packaging and Development Engineer at Outboard Marine Corporation in 1996, followed by more technical roles, including Senior Packaging Engineer in 2000. While at Outboard Marine - a producer of Johnson and Evinrude outboard motors - he developed an outboard motor racking system patent for shipping outboard motors to boat suppliers. This system minimized excess packaging by introducing a returnable solution integrated into a roll-top trailer, significantly reducing costs and environmental waste for boat companies. This led to the Chairman's Award in recognition of his contributions to the field. From there, he worked as a packaging engineer at Visteon from 2002 to 2003, contributing to the development of efficient packaging methods for automotive components, following his time as a lead project engineer at I*Logic from 2000 until 2002.

Laying the foundation for Mr. Schmidt's professional accomplishments was his academic background of a Bachelor of Science in packaging engineering from Michigan State University, earned in 1996. After starting at the university focused on chemical engineering, he changed majors upon discovering his passion for packaging through an inspiring seminar. Under this new discipline, he consistently excelled in coursework that aligned with his interests.

Reflecting on his journey, Mr. Schmidt attributes his professional success to a relentless work ethic instilled by his family background. He credits his parents for providing a loving home filled with traditions that motivated him to achieve excellence, as well as the influence of his grandfather, who further reinforced strong family values that continue to guide him today. He gives plenty of credit to numerous mentors along his journey, but most definitely acknowledges the unwavering support of his wife, who has stood by his side for 29 years.

Looking ahead, Mr. Schmidt aims to elevate IZA Design & Manufacturing by addressing recent industry challenges while expanding its reach within the sector. His vision is to position the company as a preferred supplier to major original equipment manufacturers such as General Motors and Toyota Motor Manufacturing while establishing himself as a recognized leader who provides reliable solutions across the industry.
