ATLANTA, GA, March 04, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Atlanta, March 3, 2026 — Allen Buckley, a fiscal conservative and the Libertarian Party of Georgia's U.S. Senate candidate in 2004, 2008 and 2016, has qualified to run in the November election with the Georgia Secretary of State's office as the Libertarian Party of Georgia's candidate.
The 2008 race went to a run-off, with Mr. Buckley garnering 128,002 votes (3.4 percent) in the General Election. Saxby Chambliss eventually won the run-off. In 2016, Mr. Buckley garnered 162,261 votes, which amounted to 4.2 percent of the votes cast.
The Georgia U.S. Senate race is expected to be tight. Presently, the Libertarian Party of Georgia lacks ballot access, having lost it in 2024. It is in the process of attempting to reacquire it.
Buckley's campaign includes many pieces of legislation drafted by Buckley, including reforms to major entitlement programs that will drive down health care costs, immigration reforms including a solution with respect to those now here illegally, and Executive Branch rein-in measures, to eliminate many powers previously granted to the president by the Congress and those given by the president to himself.
Buckley said: "The two major parties are driving our country to a financial disaster. We now spend more on interest than we do on our military, and the Congressional Budget Office recently said it expects interest expense to roughly equal all discretionary spending combined in 2036. Opponents I may face won't deal with these issues."
Buckley also said: "My campaign focuses on the real issues and provides practical legislative solutions to the significant problems our country now faces, including the debilitating national debt, crazy health care costs, the need for entitlements, tax and immigration reform, and abuse of power by the Executive Branch."
