From 2006 to 2013, he served as an equity analyst specializing in health care at Pioneer Investments. Earlier in his career, Mr. Fay was vice president of institutional healthcare consulting at Leerink Partners from 2001 to 2006 and a senior consultant in health care at Kendall Strategies from 1999 to 2001. He also held several roles at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, where he served from 1996 to 1999 as senior manager, assistant chief of staff and assistant director of communications. His initial experience was as a bacteriologist at an HIV lab in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, from 1995 to 1996.

Mr. Fay's academic background is both comprehensive and multidisciplinary. He earned a Master of Business Administration in finance from the Carroll School of Management at Boston College. His wife , Kylie, is an opera singer and teacher based in London. Together, they have a blended family with four children, and the family frequently travels between locations for both personal enrichment and professional commitments.
