NOVATO, CA, March 09, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Marc DeNarie has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Renowned for his success in transforming business processes and driving team-centered corporate cultures, Mr. DeNarie is distinguished by his steady progression through increasingly complex and influential roles within the energy and technology sectors. As global vice president of hybrid energy operations, cybersecurity and support services at Larsen & Toubro Limited since 2021, he provides strategic and operational oversight for business operations and utility environments, managing day-to-day activities with direct leadership accountability across functional teams.
Mr. DeNarie's responsibilities include integrating cybersecurity discipline into real-time control room environments to strengthen situational awareness and operational resilience, overseeing cybersecurity services to ensure proactive threat detection and response capabilities, and leading cybersecurity teams to maintain a strong and compliant security posture. As the critical infrastructure protection senior manager, he ensures adherence to federal standards for utility asset operations.
During his tenure at Larsen & Toubro, Mr. DeNarie has addressed persistent industry challenges, particularly the integration of renewable energy sources into constrained grids. He has leveraged his extensive expertise to develop innovative solutions for interconnection issues, such as creating a balancing authority that enabled a solar plant to operate independently without destabilizing the grid. Among his most notable achievements in recent years is his involvement in the Neom City project in Saudi Arabia, a $1 trillion initiative that transformed a region near the Sinai Peninsula into a Green Hydrogen driven technological hub.
Overseeing the delivery of the EMS (Energy Management System) package and managing the energy management system for a nearly 5-gigawatt green energy grid, Mr. DeNarie implemented advanced systems for renewable production and green hydrogen generation. His work on the Neom project included deploying a cutting-edge voltage-ampere reactive dispatch system in closed loop operation — one of only two globally — to manage voltage in real time.
Prior to joining Larsen & Toubro, Mr. DeNarie was the senior manager for digital implementation services at General Electric (GE) Renewable Energy, where he focused on deploying digital solutions for renewable assets and further refined his expertise in energy management systems. From 2020 to 2021, he served as a senior project engineer at GE Digital in the San Francisco Bay Area, contributing to the development and implementation of advanced control systems for utility clients.
In 2019, Mr. DeNarie cofounded DeNexus Inc., where he spearheaded technological innovation in risk analytics for critical infrastructure sectors. As co-founder and chief technology officer, his leadership extended from product development to client engagement, positioning the company at the forefront of cyber risk quantification and management.
From 2015 to 2019, Mr. DeNarie held dual roles as senior vice president of operations and chief information officer at NaturEner USA & NaturEner Canada. Across both of these positions, he directed operational strategy and long-term information technology initiatives across North American renewable energy portfolios.
As principal consultant at Power Systems Consultants — an independent engineering consultancy firm based in Folsom, California — from 2013 to 2015, Mr. DeNarie provided expert guidance on power system integration projects for utilities worldwide.
Mr. DeNarie also gained national-level leadership experience during a five-year period as vice president of information technology and regional information officer (RIO) at the United States Department of Energy. Throughout his tenure, he was responsible for implementing information technology strategies in support of long-term national energy objectives.
Earlier in his career, Mr. DeNarie served as the director of electric operations at Maui Electric Company, where he managed grid reliability initiatives for the islands of Maui, Lana'i and Moloka'i.
Mr. DeNarie began his journey with more than two decades of contributions at Pacific Gas and Electric Company, where he optimized market participation strategies as the manager of energy trading from 2002 to 2004. This position came after he served as principal cabling and infrastructure technician (CIT) and emergency medical service (EMS) operations supervisor from 1994 to 2002, which marked his early impact on control system modernization efforts.
After completing his tenure at Pacific Gas and Electric, Mr. DeNarie pursued higher education and earned a Bachelor of Science in information technology cum laude from Colorado Technical University in 2007. This academic foundation provided him with critical analytical skills that have long underpinned his success in developing innovative solutions within complex technical environments.
Dedicated to the ideals of continuous learning and growth, Mr. DeNarie has obtained Internationally recognised certifications in response and industrial defense (GRID), incident handling and response (GCIH), forensic examination (GCFE), systems & network auditing (GSNA), and wireless network auditing (GAWN), all from GIAC Certifications. Additionally, he is certified as a secure software lifecycle professional (CSSLP), and a information systems security professional (CISSP) by the International Information System Security Certification Consortium (ISC2).
Reflecting on his storied journey thus far, Mr. DeNarie attributes his achievements to curiosity and dedication — qualities instilled by family influences such as his mother's advice to pursue work that brings joy rather than obligation. Adhering to this philosophy has guided him toward roles that align with his interests while challenging him to seek constant improvement through iterative enhancement.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Mr. DeNarie is actively engaged in civic organizations dedicated to community support and emergency preparedness. He supports Golden Gate Regional Center initiatives, mentors young individuals through The Boombox, and serves as an emergency communications operator with the Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service (RACES) as part of the Marin County Office of Emergency Services.
Also recognized for his thought leadership, Mr. DeNarie has shared his knowledge and insights on cybersecurity in the 21st century, digital infrastructure and many other technological topics, with his works appearing in influential publications such as Chief Information Officer (CIO) Review and Energy CIO Insights Magazine.
Happily married and a devoted father of one, Mr. DeNarie enjoys astrophotography, playing golf, scuba diving and reading as a balance to his professional endeavors. He supports his son through active involvement in parent groups and volunteer activities at school while exploring advancements such as artificial intelligence personal assistants that are designed to enhance daily living for individuals with special needs. With a spouse who works as a senior power system engineer at Pacific Gas and Electric Company, their family shares a deep connection to the energy sector.
Looking to the future, Mr. DeNarie is committed to influencing the development of frameworks that will drive progress toward enhanced energy futures for both residential and commercial customers. Drawing on his extensive experience across public and private utilities — and informed by firsthand knowledge of the challenges facing modern distribution systems — he remains passionate about advancing industry resilience through innovative solutions that bring greater independence for consumers while addressing the evolving technological demands of the modern age.
