MOUNT VERNON, OH, March 11, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Patti Dice, MAT, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Dice has dedicated her entire professional life to special education, establishing herself as an expert at the middle school level. Since 1991, she has served as a special education teacher at Mount Vernon Middle School in Mount Vernon, Ohio. In this capacity, Ms. Dice teaches three inclusion classes working in general education classrooms and conducts specialized learning sessions for students who face challenges with the standard curriculum. She is responsible for designing differentiated lessons tailored to individual student needs and managing a classroom with diverse learning requirements. Her role also involves collaborating on Individualized Education Programs and Evaluation Team Reports to ensure appropriate placements for each student. By providing minimal homework, she supports her students' learning while accommodating their unique individual needs.

Throughout her 35-year career, Ms. Dice has been recognized for her unwavering commitment to nurturing relationships with students and their families. The highlight of her professional journey has been the profound impact she has made through these connections, as evidenced by former students inviting her to significant life events such as weddings and seeking her mentorship long after leaving her classroom. Her influence extends beyond academics, serving as a mentor and support figure throughout their lives. Ms. Dice's expertise in special education is further underscored by her active involvement in several professional organizations, including Delta Kappa Gamma, the Ohio Education Association, the National Education Association, and the North Central Ohio Education Association.

Ms. Dice's academic background has played a pivotal role in shaping her approach to teaching and supporting students. She earned a master's degree in the art of teaching and elementary literacy from Marygrove College in Detroit, Michigan, which provided advanced strategies for literacy instruction and classroom management. Before this achievement, she completed a bachelor's degree in elementary education 1-8 at Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio. These academic credentials have been instrumental in equipping Ms. Dice with the knowledge and skills to address the varied needs of her students effectively.

In addition to her degrees, Ms. Dice holds a special education license (kindergarten through grade 12), which has enabled her to work with a broad spectrum of learners across multiple grade levels. She attributes her success to her ability to build lasting, meaningful relationships with students and their families, connections that extend well beyond the classroom environment.

Ms. Dice's passion for helping children succeed, both academically and personally, inspired her to enter the profession. She began as a tutor before transitioning to a full-time special education teacher role, where she continually sought opportunities to support students who needed additional guidance.

Born and raised in Mount Vernon, Ohio, Ms. Dice remains closely connected to her community. Although she is not married and does not have biological children, she considers many of her former students part of her extended family and maintains enduring bonds with them. One especially significant relationship is with a former student whose child affectionately calls her "Mimi," making Ms. Dice a cherished grandmother figure within that family. Deeply devoted to her own family members as well, she finds joy in mentoring, supporting and actively participating in the lives of those around her, both within her family circle and throughout the broader community.

Looking ahead, Ms. Dice intends to continue teaching as long as her health allows, with aspirations of reaching 45 years of service in education. She also aims to pay off her home and looks forward to traveling after retirement, while considering consulting opportunities in education.
