MANASSAS, VA, March 12, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jimmy Edwards has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Edwards has distinguished himself as a visionary leader and expert in education and education leadership, earning recognition for his innovative contributions to the field. In 2025, he assumed the role of founder and president of the CAREducation Foundation, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) public charity dedicated to transforming educational access and equity. Under his leadership, the foundation introduced a sliding scale tuition model that allows families to pay what they can, with the ultimate goal of providing free education supported by donors. He has prioritized community ownership in decision-making processes related to curriculum, instruction, standards, assessments and financial resource allocation. This approach has fostered collective responsibility among stakeholders and strengthened the foundation's sustainability efforts. In 2024, Mr. Edwards founded CAREVOLUTION, a global education initiative reimagining schooling through self-directed, project-based learning and inclusive community design. As president, he leads the organization in a capacity similar to that of a superintendent, overseeing multiple micro-schools on a shared campus and piloting an online platform for homeschooled and geographically dispersed students. The program offers comprehensive academic courses, workshops, mentorship opportunities and student-led clubs. CAREVOLUTION is developing its own membership and accreditation network to certify educators and accredit programs aligned with its learner-centered model, empowering communities worldwide to establish CARE cohorts in their own cities. The organization's philosophy is grounded in his doctoral research at the University of Virginia, which critiques traditional assessment systems rooted in industrial-era models that often fail to serve diverse learners equitably. Instead, CAREVOLUTION advances a globally informed, human-centered curriculum shaped by religious, cultural and socioeconomic diversity. The model actively supports students with disabilities and neurodivergent learners—many of whom have thrived after struggling in conventional systems—demonstrating the transformative potential of personalized education.

From 2015 to 2025, Mr. Edwards served as an instructional coach as well as a mathematics and music teacher with Prince William County Public Schools. He began his career teaching both subjects before moving to Lima, Peru, where he taught upper-level mathematics at the American International School of Lima while pursuing doctoral studies at the University of Virginia. Upon returning in 2022, he took on an instructional coaching position focused on reimagining education through dissertation work that led to the founding of the CAREducation Foundation. Throughout his tenure in public education, he spearheaded several school improvement initiatives that resulted in unprecedented gains in student achievement, particularly for students with disabilities. At one school, he closed achievement gaps by increasing mathematics proficiency among students with disabilities from 54% to 100% on standardized tests. In another instance, his leadership helped preserve accreditation status due to outstanding performance by students with disabilities who achieved level one categorization in mathematics, the highest among all student groups. Through implementation of the CARE Learning Framework—a research-based approach—he helped transform an alternative school by reducing chronic absenteeism to zero despite serving students facing disciplinary issues related to violence, addiction, and trauma. These students not only outperformed their county peers on common assessments but also developed renewed enthusiasm for attending school.

Mr. Edwards' academic background has been instrumental in shaping his professional journey and achievements. He earned an education specialist degree in curriculum and instruction leadership from the University of Virginia in 2024 following completion of a master's degree in mathematics education from the same institution in 2015. He also holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics from the University of Virginia, awarded in 2015. His advanced studies provided him with deep expertise in curriculum design and instructional leadership while reinforcing his commitment to systemic change within education.

Throughout his career, Mr. Edwards has attributed his success to a robust support system comprising family, friends and colleagues whose encouragement inspired him to pursue ambitious goals and take bold leaps of faith. He finds fulfillment not in wealth or fame but in serving his community—working alongside students and teachers to effect meaningful change—and is motivated by witnessing others thrive as a result of collaborative efforts. His doctoral journey led him to a spiritual awakening that now informs his mission-driven approach; he envisions humanity united by peace and harmony through collective action.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Mr. Edwards is deeply engaged with his community and values connection as central to both personal growth and educational practice. He resides in Manassas, Virginia, where he inherited his family home and provides affordable housing for friends and community members, a reflection of his belief that learning extends beyond classrooms into civic engagement and mutual support.

Mr. Edwards enjoys lifelong learning, staying active through sports such as golf and volleyball, going to the gym and participating as a musician—writing songs, performing in musicals including "Newsies" and "Frozen," and attending open mic nights with family members. He integrates his passion for music into educational work; notably, he composed an album embodying principles from his Care Learning Framework.

Looking ahead, Mr. Edwards aims to expand pilot programs for micro-schools while advocating for widespread adoption of project-based learning models across public schools, alternative education initiatives and homeschooling cooperatives seeking licensure for their curriculum. He currently operates a program for local public school stakeholders where students are mobilizing for educational reform through civil rights activities such as walkouts, protests and participation in school board meetings—raising awareness about pressing issues within the system while organizing those committed to change.
