Before her current position, Ms. Vakalfotis served as quality assurance officer at State Street Corporation from 2017 to 2021. In this role, she reviewed compliance issues within the newly established compliance department, which was created to meet evolving regulatory requirements. Her responsibilities included ensuring accurate system entry, proper remediation of compliance matters and transitioning to the risk management team, where she further honed her skills in risk assessment and control verification.

From 2013 to 2017, Ms. Vakalfotis was a senior internal auditor at Wolf & Company P.C., where she conducted audits primarily for banks within the internal audit group. This position required extensive travel and encompassed service organization control reporting, SOX testing, trust audits and other bank area audits. Her work contributed significantly to the integrity of financial operations for client institutions.

Ms. Vakalfotis began her professional journey at Kelmar Associates LLC as a senior audit associate from 2007 to 2013. While working for this firm specializing in unclaimed property, she reviewed companies to ensure no funds were owed to customers or clients. Her diligence in this capacity laid the groundwork for her subsequent achievements in auditing and risk management.

Throughout her career, Ms. Vakalfotis has demonstrated a commitment to continuous learning and professional development. Ms. Vakalfotis's academic background includes a Master of Business Administration in accounting from Bentley University in Waltham, Massachusetts, conferred in 2009, and a bachelor's degree in accounting information systems from Bentley University, awarded in 2008. She completed a comprehensive five-year program at Bentley University that enabled her to earn both undergraduate and graduate degrees while gaining practical experience at Kelmar Associates LLC. Her success is rooted in values instilled during her upbringing in Arlington, where she worked alongside her father at his pizza restaurant.
