NEW YORK, NY, March 17, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Laver Capital has unveiled the inaugural curatorial framework for Praxis, its international residency program dedicated to contemporary art. Entitled Transmutation, the debut theme challenges emerging artists to engage with artistic legacy as a generative material. Alongside this thematic launch, the family office confirmed the establishment of two primary program hubs situated in London and New York City.
The Praxis initiative has been conceived as a long-term, philanthropic commitment to contemporary art, positioning artistic practice as a form of research, knowledge-making and public reflection. The program has been designed to give artists the time, space and critical support that is needed to test ideas that may not fit easily within conventional institutional or market frameworks.
The intention of the Praxis program is to provide comprehensive support to creators at formative career stages, placing a distinct emphasis on women alongside under-represented practitioners. The cultural capitals of London and New York will host the selected residents, offering them individual studios and extensive mentorship networks. The physical footprint ensures artists benefit from embedded curatorial support while navigating the complexities of the global arts ecosystem.
At the core of the upcoming residency cycle is the Transmutation theme. The framework encourages practitioners to interrogate how visual languages traverse time. Residents will have the opportunity to dismantle historical lineages and appropriate past methods, reshaping them for contemporary relevance. This theming opens the artistic field for questions surrounding legacy, influence, intention and reconstruction.
The broader aim of the program is to support practices that are critically engaged yet formally adventurous, and to contribute to a more inclusive artistic landscape in which emerging voices shape new works and the terms of future cultural debates.
Ethan Moore, Portfolio Manager at Laver Capital, stated: "Drawing inspiration from pioneering creators who actively conversed with their predecessors, Praxis will support practices that tackle the mechanics of influence and citation. We hope artists will engage with shared disciplinary histories and personal archives, and that they will use this exchange as the foundation for new works. The thematic direction provides a rigorous intellectual grounding for the residencies, ensuring the resulting exhibitions contribute meaningfully to pressing cultural dialogues."
Laver Capital continues to finalize the operational and advisory structures required to support this vision. The dedicated program team is currently calibrating the mentorship methodology in collaboration with early institutional partners. Consequently, the official international open call for artist applications is projected to launch in late 2026 or early 2027. Artists interested in Praxis' program can register their interest ahead of the open call by emailing Delphine Corbin at [email protected].
