UNIONDALE, NY, March 17, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Nerrissa Williams, PMP, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Ms. Williams has established herself as a prominent figure in the field of release management with specialties in operations and software implementations. Since 2022, she was promoted to manager of release and application operations at The Walt Disney Company, where she is instrumental in overseeing critical projects. Her journey with Disney began in 2001 when she was brought in through PWC to consult on the sustainment model of Disney's global rollout of the SAP application. Her expertise was pivotal in establishing the initial internal SAP call center set up to support approximately 50,000 cast members at Walt Disney World and Disneyland (at that time), and also creating the Release Manager job function, setting the stage for two successful decades of sustainment of SAP releases.
Though her career at Disney (where she officially joined as a cast member in 2005) counts many milestones, she is particularly proud to have managed the rollout of the company's December 2023 SAP release. That specific release was lodged in between two multi-million dollar projects making the success of the release critical. She overcame multiple infrastructure changes and adjustments to remain on schedule and ensure a successful implementation with her leadership earning high praise from Disney's senior vice president and other senior technology leaders.
Prior to her tenure at Disney, Ms. Williams honed her skills as a senior consultant at International Business Machines (IBM) from 1998 to 2005. During this period, she worked on various consulting assignments that laid the foundation for her future successes. Her career in consulting began at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where she served as a senior consultant from 1992 to 1998. Both of these roles provided her with invaluable experience and insights into the intricacies of software implementations and operations management.
Academically, Ms. Williams holds a Master of Science in engineering economics systems from Stanford University, completed in 1992, and a Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering and operations research from the University of California, Berkeley, earned in 1989. Additionally, she pursued coursework in mechanical engineering at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Resilience has been one of the greatest gifts she attained along the way; despite facing setbacks throughout her educational journey, she has always managed to persevere and emphasizes that young people can likewise accomplish anything they set their mind to.
To augment her knowledge and professional qualifications, Ms. Williams was certified as a project management professional by the Project Management Institute in 2007 and earned the ITIL V3 Foundation for Information Technology (IT) Service Management certificate from Hewlett Packard Enterprise in 2009. Equally committed to empowering others within her field, she had been involved in industry-related organizations such as the National Society of Black Engineers and the Society of Women Engineers.
Also important to her are contributions to community service initiatives that aid children and families in need, Ms. Williams has volunteered with organizations such as A New Day Foundation, Disney VoluntEARS, Kids' Science and Health Fair, Girls Build Math Engineering and the Science Achievement Program (MESA). Additionally, she has participated in events like the Ronald McDonald House Walk, a popular fundraising event that supports families with children who are receiving medical treatment.
Looking back on her storied success thus far, Ms. Williams is immensely grateful for the values instilled by her parents, who emphasized the importance of education. Her mother's encouragement led her to pursue a career in engineering — a decision that has proven fruitful ever since.
A devoted mother of three children and a stepdaughter, Ms. Williams enjoys traveling with her family, embarking on vacations and cruises and reading during her leisure time. Looking toward the future, she envisions playing a pivotal role in establishing release management as a global standard within The Walt Disney Company. Passionate about ensuring that releases occur efficiently with no/minimal business interruption, and predictably, she aims to expand her involvement in operations management to foster consistency across Disney's enterprise technology realm. Her past achievements and prospective goals alike reflect a longstanding legacy of making a meaningful impact in every area of her life.
