Most recently, she served as a long-time Executive Advisory Consultant for the Jesus Children Bible Academy Ministry from 1991 to 2026. Ms. Lindsey-Ruminski's 35-year tenure began with humble origins, launching the academy in the backyard of a building in New Haven, Connecticut, with approximately 40 children, many of whom were referred to as "locked down kids" due to the challenges in their neighborhood. Parents entrusted their children to her care, seeking a haven for their children with a positive influence. Under her leadership, the academy flourished, expanding its reach throughout New Haven and gaining recognition for its impact on urban youth and families.
The Jesus Children Bible Academy Ministry (JCBA), is recognized as a non-denominational nonprofit organization that provides biblical instruction, behavioral guidance, and tutorial services. JCBA primarily provided services to low-income children ages 8 to 18 of all denominations. Ms. Lindsey-Ruminski's most notable achievement lies in her dedication to instilling manners, morals and respect in her students, while inspiring them to dream beyond their circumstances. Since its founding, she has witnessed former students pursue advanced degrees, careers in law enforcement, nursing, and administrations, to name a few, and she continues to cherish the strong bonds she has cultivated with those she mentored.
Before her work at the Jesus Children Bible Academy Ministry, Ms. Lindsey-Ruminski was a marketing Account Executive at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Connecticut from 1974 to 1997. In this capacity, she managed major accounts for over two decades, including utilities, banks and unions, focusing on marketing employee benefits across diverse organizations. Ms. Lindsey-Ruminski's expertise in client relations and benefits administration contributed significantly to the insurance company's outreach and service delivery.
Earlier in her career, in 1972 Ms. Lindsey-Ruminski was Program Director at Operation Child Care Center in New Haven. Which was an early childhood, daycare, and pre-k, development center and program. During this time she collaborated with the founder of the first local Hospice Care Facility in Connecticut. She launched and opened the area's first infant daycare program. This was an important milestone that addressed a critical childcare need in the city. Ms. Lindsey-Ruminski was also influential as a substitute teacher at the Urban Youth Center, the Hyde Leadership School, and with New Haven Board of Education between 1992 and 1996.
Ms. Lindsey-Ruminski's academic background is both extensive and diverse. She earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of New Haven in Criminal Justice and Business Administration. She attended Southern Connecticut State University and completed coursework in Special Education. Subsequently, she received a Master of Science in Community Psychology from Springfield College. Ms. Lindsey-Ruminski furthered her studies with a Bachelor of Science in Theology from Beacon University, and a Master of Science in Elementary Education K-8, from the University of New Haven.
In addition to her formal education, Ms. Lindsey-Ruminski's commitment to professional growth is further demonstrated by her credentials as a Certified Health Consultant from Lehigh University. She also completed training as a facilitator and mediator with Community Mediation Inc., Youth Development training for B.E.S.T. Practices, with the Youth Development and Resource Center, and Entrepreneurial training through the Women Business Development Council.
Ms. Lindsey-Ruminski's civic involvement has included serving as a Behavioral Consultant for Behavior Academic Development Services since its founding in 2002, a fee-for-service program that supports students 8-18 and young adults. She has also served as the Vice President of the National Council of Negro Women, Inc. from 2012 to 2014. Previously, Ms. Lindsey-Ruminski spent over a decade participating in Youth@Work Job Readiness Summer Training Programs through the City of New Haven from 1996 to 2008.
Throughout her professional journey, Ms. Lindsey-Ruminski has been recognized for her contributions and visibility within her field.
