As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Hahn's distinguished career in technical consulting and process technology spans more than three decades with Abbott Laboratories, marked by significant contributions to the food and pharmaceutical industries. In 2025, he served as a technical consultant for Apex Technical in Columbus, Ohio, providing expert guidance on process optimization and technical problem-solving for clients seeking to enhance their manufacturing operations, sanitary design and food safety.

From 2008 to 2025, Mr. Hahn held the highest technical position available for individual contributors at Abbott Laboratories in Columbus, Ohio. This prestigious role was awarded by the executive committee through a selective process, underscoring his exceptional expertise and leadership. During his tenure, he led a community of practice comprising more than 120 professionals, mentoring them monthly and sharing critical technical knowledge. He played a pivotal role in setting goals, developing strategic plans and fostering an environment of continuous learning. Among his most notable achievements at Abbott Laboratories was the development of the world's first aseptically filled infant formula. This innovation ensured that the product remained safe and shelf-stable for one year while preserving essential vitamins, minerals and nutrients without separation. The process involved sterile filling techniques that set new industry standards for safety and quality.

Additionally, Mr. Hahn contributed significantly to industry best practices through his involvement with PMMI, the Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies. He was instrumental in promoting sanitary cleaning and sanitation protocols across the sector, collaborating with the 3-A working group to ensure equipment compliance with stringent sanitary requirements established by 3-A Sanitary Standards, Inc. His efforts included creating comprehensive documentation that has become foundational within the industry.

From 2004 to 2008, Mr. Hahn served as process technology manager at Abbott Laboratories in Columbus, Ohio. In this capacity, he managed teams responsible for advancing manufacturing processes and implementing innovative solutions that improved product quality and operational efficiency.

Mr. Hahn began his professional journey as a consultant for Anheuser-Busch, where he applied his chemical engineering expertise to optimize brewing processes. However, he soon realized that his passion lay in public health rather than in beverage production. This realization prompted his transition to Abbott Laboratories, aligning his career with his ethical commitment to improving lives through science and technology.

Throughout his career, Mr. Hahn has maintained active memberships in several prominent industry organizations, including PMMI, 3-A Sanitary Standards, Inc., and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. These affiliations have enabled him to stay at the forefront of technological advancements and regulatory developments within his field.

Mr. Hahn's academic foundation was established at Clarkson University in Potsdam, New York, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering in 1984. His education provided him with the technical acumen necessary for his early consulting work and subsequent leadership roles in process technology and innovation.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Mr. Hahn has demonstrated a strong commitment to civic engagement and community service. He has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and served as a senior member of the pastoral council at the Korean-American Church in Columbus, Ohio.

His exemplary service has been recognized with honors, including the Lifetime Achievement Award from Abbott Laboratories.

In his personal life, Mr. Hahn is devoted to his family—his spouse Eunjoo Kim and their two adult children, Mary and Joseph. He enjoys playing golf, hiking and homebrewing during his leisure time. Looking ahead, Mr. Hahn intends to give back to the broader community by authoring a series of books based on his extensive experience at Abbott Laboratories.
