GAMBRILLS, MD, March 27, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jacqueline Anne Gardy has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Gardy currently serves as the owner and editorial consultant at Gardy Learning Design Studio, providing editorial and learning design services to clients in the education, nonprofit, small business, and edtech sectors. Since late 2025, she has focused on leading her mission-driven studio, where she offers line editing, developmental editing, editorial support services, and strategic content consulting. In this capacity, Ms. Gardy collaborates with authors and organizations to ensure their communications are clear, accessible, and engaging, reflecting her commitment to excellence in content creation and educational design.

Before establishing her studio, Ms. Gardy served across four presidential administrations at the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, Office of English Language Programs. She held concurrent roles as a content development editor from 2011 to 2025 and as a global education leader and program manager between 2013 and 2025. During her tenure, she led several initiatives that had a lasting impact on international education. Among Ms. Gardy's most notable achievements was the creation and expansion of virtual exchange programs beginning in 2020. What started as a small pilot grew under her leadership into a robust platform that enabled English teachers worldwide to connect and collaborate. She guided the program's strategic design, editorial direction, and global implementation, reaching educators in more than 125 countries and contributing to its adoption as a recurring component of one of the office's major initiatives. In addition to her program leadership, she has been an active national and international speaker since 2009, presenting on the intersection of language learning, creative thinking, and technology to audiences around the world. Through these roles, she developed deep expertise in editorial strategy, content development, and the creation of learning resources for diverse audiences—experience that shaped her transition into full-time editorial consulting.

Ms. Gardy's teaching experience spans a wide range of educational settings, including credit and non-credit ESL courses at the community college level, refugee education programs, and academic writing instruction for multilingual learners. A pivotal moment in her early career was her selection for the highly competitive English Language Fellow program, a global professional exchange through which she was placed in Novi Sad, Serbia, for a university-level teaching appointment that deepened her expertise in international education and cross-cultural communication. This fellowship significantly shaped her professional trajectory and led to her long-term work with the U.S. Department of State. She also worked as a teacher trainer at Montgomery College in Maryland, facilitating professional development for educators working with English language learners.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Gardy taught English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) in Prince George's County Public Schools in Maryland, where she supported newly arrived multilingual learners in an urban high school setting. She began her professional journey just prior to that as a Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) program assistant at American University, contributing to program administration while pursuing her academic goals.

Ms. Gardy graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies from California State University, Monterey Bay, and later earned a Master of Arts in TESOL from American University in Washington, D.C., supported by a full merit scholarship. She has continued to expand her expertise through advanced professional development, including graduate-level coursework in Design Management and Communications at Georgetown University, which strengthened her foundation in strategic communication and design-informed leadership.

Reflecting her leadership in educational technology, language instruction, and creative communication, Ms. Gardy maintains active affiliations with several professional organizations, including the LeveragED Collective, a community that supports the professional growth of high-impact education leaders; the International Society for Technology in Education, where she is an ISTE Certified Educator and ISTE Community Leader; and the Adobe Creative Educator Innovator Community, where she is a founding member. As she expands her work in editorial consulting, she has also joined the Editorial Freelancers Association and the American Copy Editors Association, marking a natural transition from her earlier involvement in federal associations, such as Executive Women at State and the Federal Games Guild, into new creative and editorial communities.

Ms. Gardy also serves on the advisory board for South by Southwest EDU and has been selected as a SXSW EDU Mentor for the past three years, supporting educators and emerging leaders in developing their ideas and professional pathways. She has additionally held key leadership roles within the Washington Area TESOL Association, including president and past president.

Ms. Gardy's contributions have been recognized through numerous awards over the course of her career, including the U.S. Department of State Franklin Award in 2025; the Tech & Learning Innovative Leader Award for Best Example of Virtual Learning in 2024; Goldie Awards from the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs in 2024 and 2017; and Meritorious Honor Awards in 2022, 2021, 2014, and 2012.

Ms. Gardy's career exemplifies innovation, resilience, and a deep commitment to expanding access to high-quality learning and communication. She credits her success to the unwavering support of her family and a close network of friends who encouraged her during pivotal transitions, particularly her move into entrepreneurship, which marked a defining shift in her professional path. Looking ahead, she is focused on expanding Gardy Learning Design Studio into a comprehensive editorial and consulting practice that supports nonprofits, changemakers, and education leaders in communicating with clarity and impact. She is especially committed to elevating voices that are still taking shape—helping mission-driven individuals and organizations articulate their ideas with clarity, purpose, and confidence.
