A pivotal moment came midway through his biblical studies coursework when he was approached about building a house which lit the fire to launch his career in custom home building.

Mr. Clayton is an active member of the National Association of Home Builders and the Flathead Builders Association, further demonstrating his commitment to professional development within the industry.

His educational background includes some business college education as well as a biblical studies intensive program following graduation from high school. While he did not pursue formal trade education through a trade school, his hard work, dedication, and life experiences have shaped his values-driven approach to leadership and teamwork to form a solidified custom home building company. Mr. Clayton attributes all of his success to his team, emphasizing that their collective effort is foundational to Timberline Construction's achievements.

Civically engaged, Mr. Clayton volunteers with his Christian church, reflecting his ongoing commitment to service beyond his professional endeavors.

Growing up in a small mountain community, Mr. Clayton enjoys spending time outdoors, and now, with his four children—whose ages range from 10 months to 10 years old—and engaging in activities such as hiking, camping, fishing, hunting and exploring the mountains during spring, summer and fall. He values quality time with family at the lake and in nature.

Looking ahead, Mr. Clayton remains focused on creating opportunities within Timberline Construction rather than expanding solely for growth's sake.
