Dr. Fannin has established a distinguished career in pharmacy and academic leadership, marked by more than four decades of professional experience. Since 2018, he has served as dean of the College of Pharmacy at Roseman University of Health Sciences, overseeing both the Henderson, Nevada, and South Jordan, Utah campuses. Prior to that he served as the Campus Dean for the South Jordan Campus. In this capacity, he supervises faculty and staff, manages budgets, leads executive hiring and directs all operational activities within the college. He is also responsible for teaching students the essential skills required to become practicing pharmacists in the health care industry. His management expertise, fostering productive working relationships with faculty and staff, and budget oversight have been instrumental in advancing the college's mission.

Prior to his current role, Dr. Fannin was associate dean for academic and student affairs at the School of Pharmacy at Hampton University from 1997 to 2006. There, he played a pivotal role in shaping academic policies and supporting student development. For the preceding five years, he served as division director of the clinical pharmacy program at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, where he contributed to curriculum development and clinical training initiatives.

Earlier in his career, Dr. Fannin was the director of pharmacy services at Holy Family Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, from 1975 to 1977. In this leadership position, he managed pharmacy operations and ensured high standards of patient care. His foundational experience includes serving as a hospital staff pharmacist from 1988 to 1997 and as a staff pharmacist at a Veterans Affairs hospital from 1997 to 2006. Additionally, he worked as a clinical pharmacist at a hospital in Tallahassee, Florida, for three years, where he provided direct patient care and collaborated with medical teams.

Throughout his career, Dr. Fannin has been recognized for his dedication and impact on the field. In 2014, he was featured as one of Utah Business Magazine's Healthcare Heroes for his significant contributions to the community—a distinction that included being highlighted on the magazine's cover. Additionally, he maintains active membership in several professional organizations, such as the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, the American Pharmacists Association, the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists and the National Pharmacy Association, among others.

Academically, Dr. Fannin's background laid a strong foundation for his achievements, earning a Doctor of Pharmacy from the College of Pharmacy at Mercer University in Atlanta in 1975 after completing a Bachelor of Science in pharmacy from the same institution. Beyond his education, he attributes his success to the support of his late wife, colleagues and mentors across various institutions—especially those at Roseman University of Health Sciences—whose collaboration has been invaluable throughout his journey.

Beyond his professional commitments, Dr. Fannin is civically engaged as a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. and has also volunteered at a homeless shelter in Salt Lake City. In his personal life, he values spending time with family, including his son, and enjoys golf and bowling as hobbies. In the upcoming years, Dr. Fannin anticipates concluding his tenure in academia after an impactful career spanning four decades while continuing to contribute meaningfully to the field in the meantime.
