GUYTON, GA, April 01, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Tyler E. Dorn has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Having devoted his career to helping others through everything he does, Mr. Dorn currently serves as the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Southern Choices of the Coast in Springfield, Georgia, where he provides inclusion and community-based services for children and adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities throughout the region. His leadership is marked by a commitment to promoting independence and supporting care within the home, as well as facilitating therapeutic recreation and community inclusion activities.
In his role as CEO, Mr. Dorn manages a team of over 160 employees and supports more than 200 individuals, implementing supportive initiatives that have shifted the culture around inclusive employment. He has been instrumental in organizing inclusive golf tournaments and community events, fostering a philanthropic culture within the organization, and advocating for policy reform and funding at both local and state levels.
Among Mr. Dorn's most meaningful achievements is his role as a catalyst in transforming the community's approach to equality for individuals with disabilities. He has helped open doors for people who previously lacked opportunities, enabling them to work with professional artists and encouraging for-profit companies to support philanthropy. His efforts have further demonstrated that individuals with disabilities are capable contributors to professional environments, often becoming some of the most loyal and hardworking employees.
In addition to his executive responsibilities, Mr. Dorn is a member of the board of directors for the Georgia Association of Community Care Providers. In this position, he contributes to statewide advocacy efforts, policy development and strategic planning aimed at improving care standards and access for individuals requiring home- and community-based services.
Also beginning in 2025, Mr. Dorn joined the board of directors for GROW Initiative Georgia. Through this organization, he supports programs focused on expanding opportunities for people with disabilities, collaborating with stakeholders to drive grassroots engagement and foster thriving communities across Georgia.
Since 2023, Mr. Dorn has held the office of president for Kiwanis International in Georgia. Under his leadership, the organization has continued its mission of serving children and communities through volunteerism, fundraising and outreach programs.
In addition, Mr. Dorn was recently accepted a role in 2026 on the State of Georgia's Department of Behavioral Health Developmental and Disability (DBHDD) Advisory Council.
Hailing from an equally accomplished academic background, Mr. Dorn earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Augsburg University in 2015, graduating magna cum laude. He also completed coursework in clinical psychology at United States International University-Nairobi, Africa. His educational pursuits were shaped by personal experiences growing up on a family farm in Wisconsin, where his mother worked in special education, and his father was a dairy farmer. With a brother diagnosed with bipolar disorder and another brother with mental health struggles and an intellectual and cognitive impairment, he developed firsthand a deep understanding of disabilities and comorbidities from an early age.
Mr. Dorn's initial aspiration was to become a clinical psychologist; however, during his undergraduate studies he lived abroad in Mexico and taught Spanish to children with disabilities in impoverished communities, an experience that deepened his commitment to promoting livelihood opportunities for marginalized populations. Later residing in Nairobi, Kenya, he volunteered at an orphanage where he recognized the critical need for independent living skills training among older children with disabilities. As a result, he shifted his career focus from school psychology to championing independence and community-based services.
Upon returning to the United States, Mr. Dorn began working with Dungarvin in Wisconsin before relocating to Savannah in 2018 to lead an organization for Coastal Home Care. These roles provided him with invaluable practical experience managing programs that support individuals with disabilities while reinforcing his dedication to advocacy and service delivery.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Mr. Dorn maintains active involvement in additional civic organizations throughout his community and region. He supports Faith Equestrian Therapeutic Center, The Navigators, and many other non-profits, demonstrating a broad commitment to community engagement and helping those in need.
Recognized for his outstanding contributions in 2025, Southern Choice of the Coast was named as the Best Home Care Agency in Effingham by EPM Magazine, further highlighting its impact on the community and throughout the State of Georgia.
Mr. Dorn is a proud father of four, devoted to raising his children in his local community and enjoys traveling, outdoor activities, playing and coaching soccer as well as participating in beach activities and water recreation activities as a balance to his professional endeavors.
Looking towards the future, Mr. Dorn aims to sustain and expand his community inclusion efforts beyond the Savannah area to create a broader impact across Georgia and other regions. He seeks to develop an organization capable of touching more lives while continuing his advocacy work at both local and state levels to influence reforms and secure the necessary funding for inclusive initiatives. Ultimately, his vision is to embed inclusion and community support into cultural expectations so these values can endure independently of any single leader's involvement.
