FOREST, VA, April 01, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Charlotte Harris Rees has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Rees is recognized for her career as an author and researcher, most recently associated with Torchflame Books. Since 2016, she has published works that have garnered endorsements from the chief of the Asian division of the Library of Congress, underscoring her expertise in research and writing. Ms. Rees's most recent publication, "Courage, Endurance, Sacrifice: The Lives and Faith of Three Generations of Missionaries," was released through Torchflame Books. This work traces the legacy of missionary service within her family, with her father representing the third generation.

Having served as both an author and international speaker for over two decades, Ms. Rees has focused on ancient Chinese exploration in North America. Her research journey began when she continued her father, Dr. Hendon M. Harris, Jr.'s investigations into this subject, which were initially inspired by his discovery of an old Chinese map in 1972. This map suggested early Chinese contact with the Americas, a theory further supported by Henriette Mertz's 1953 analysis linking Chinese legends to the North American continent. Ms. Rees and her husband, Dave Rees, retraced routes depicted on this map, uncovering artifacts native to China whose presence in North America remains unexplained. Her expertise has led to invitations to serve as a guest speaker at the Ancient Chinese Exploration Conference at the Library of Congress in 2005, many major universities in the U.S. and abroad, at other international conferences across Europe, Canada, Asia, Australia, and Switzerland, and at the Royal Geographical Society in London as well as the Royal Geographical Society in Hong Kong.

Ms. Rees has been celebrated as a best-selling author of books about ancient Chinese history. Her literary contributions have also extended beyond historical research, including two church-related books one translated into Russian and six additional books on ancient Chinese exploration.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Rees served for several years with the U.S. Social Security Administration. She excelled on the civil service exam to such a degree that she was offered a position typically reserved for lawyers. During her tenure, Ms. Rees developed advanced research skills that would later inform her writing and historical investigations.

Ms. Rees's academic foundation includes a bachelor's degree from Columbia International University in Columbia, South Carolina, earned in 1967. The education she received there provided a strong basis for her lifelong dedication to research and writing.

In addition to her professional pursuits, Ms. Rees has been involved with civic organizations, such as the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution. She enjoys engaging with others through the nonprofit membership organization.

Ms. Rees's commitment to public service was recognized with multiple honors, most notably the Commissioner's Commendation, the highest award conferred by the U.S. Social Security Administration, for her leadership in raising funds for various charities. She also achieved distinction as one of the Olympic torch runners during the 1984 Olympics.

A direct descendant of John Knox, the founder of the Presbyterian Church, Ms. Rees's heritage has influenced both her faith and scholarly interests. She attributes her achievements to her faith and an enduring passion for research. Looking ahead, Ms. Rees intends to complete another book chronicling her life's journey and highlighting how faith enabled her to accomplish significant milestones throughout her career and personal life.
