AMITYVILLE, NY, April 02, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Peter David Ruppert has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Earning recognition for his expertise in inspection, risk assessment, multi-unit residential structures and an unwavering commitment to project completion, Mr. Ruppert has led a distinguished career spanning more than five decades in the engineering profession. As a New York State licensed professional engineer and the founder of Soundview Engineering, P.C. — established in 2000 — he has led the firm with a longstanding focus on engineering inspections, preservation and public safety.

Under Mr. Ruppert's leadership, Soundview Engineering has become renowned for its rigorous standards and dedication to quality in serving the citizens of New York. His role encompasses not only technical oversight but also the training and supervision of staff, ensuring that both classroom instruction and on-site guidance meet the highest professional benchmarks.

In addition to founding Soundview Engineering, Mr. Ruppert held the position of chief engineering supervisor at Nassau University Medical Center on Long Island from 1973 to 2009. Over the course of 36 years, he was responsible for overseeing complex engineering operations within the leading public teaching hospital.

Among Mr. Ruppert's most memorable achievements was a project on Vandam Street in Lower Manhattan, where he demonstrated exceptional resolve in navigating obstacles to deliver successful outcomes. Throughout his career, he has been entrusted with training and supervising personnel, as well as delivering lectures to real estate professionals on engineering inspections and sharing his knowledge with industry peers and newcomers alike.

Equally committed to ongoing professional development and engagement with advancements in mechanical engineering, Mr. Ruppert is an active member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the National Society of Professional Engineers and the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).

Mr. Ruppert's academic foundation was laid at New York Institute of Technology, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering in 1990. This achievement was particularly meaningful given his early struggles with mathematics and science — a challenge he overcame through determination and self-study, inspired by his multilingual upbringing and encouragement from his European mother. Reflecting on his storied journey to date, he credits this formative experience with shaping his resilience and problem-solving abilities, both of which have been instrumental throughout his career.

Dedicated to the ideals of continuous learning, Mr. Ruppert was certified in building inspections by the New York City Department of Buildings in 2008, 2024 and 2026 and in site preparation in 2025. He is also recognized as a professional engineer by both the New York State Society of Professional Engineers and the NYC Department of Buildings. Furthermore, he is licensed as a home inspector by the New York State Department of State, enabling him to contribute significantly to both public safety initiatives and historic preservation efforts.

Mr. Ruppert's civic involvement includes contributions to the Lupus Foundation, reflecting a broader commitment to community welfare beyond his technical pursuits. His outstanding dedication over the years has seen him acknowledged through honors such as the Certificate of Merit, awarded by Nassau County Executive Thomas Gulotta in 1988.

Happily married and a proud father of two daughters, Mr. Ruppert remains dedicated to designing solutions that enhance public safety, particularly regarding occupant escape mechanisms in vehicles during emergencies such as submersion or fire. Also committed to protecting homes and preserving architectural heritage, he continues to work closely with the Buildings Preservation Commission in New York City and has played a key role in preserving two significant structures there.
