Before launching his own company, Mr. Velasco served as a trade sales manager for the Mid Atlantic and Southeast regions at Azteca Milling from 2023 to 2024. During his tenure, he successfully managed key accounts, by understanding buyer needs and communicating in a manner tailored to commercial growth. Mr. Velasco also addressed gaps that arose when teams lacked familiarity with U.S. market expectations, demonstrating his ability to bridge cultural and operational divides.
In 2022, Mr. Velasco excelled as a national execution manager at Klass Time Ltd., where he oversaw execution strategies nationwide. First hired by the organization in 2020, he rose from area sales manager to regional sales manager. From 2016 to 2020, Mr. Velasco simultaneously held roles as the sales district manager at Snyder's-Lance Inc. A Campbell Soup Company (Snacks Division). In these capacities, he honed his leadership skills while managing diverse teams and driving sales performance across multiple markets.
Between 2009 and 2016, Mr. Velasco was the director of sales operations at D&D Distributors, a distributor for Takis products. Earlier in his career, he served as visual merchandising manager at Coca-Cola Enterprises, where he gained valuable experience in product presentation and consumer engagement from 2007 to 2009.
Mr. Velasco's academic background includes a Bachelor of Business Administration and Management from Moraine Valley Community College, followed by a Master of Arts in economics and coursework in business analytics at Harvard Business School. He also holds several professional certifications, including a certified sales executive from Sales and Marketing Executive International and an ISO 9000 certification from ISSM Mexico.
A recognized expert in business development, Mr. Velasco serves as an adviser for the Chamber of Hispanic Commerce in Georgia. Beyond his professional pursuits, he is civically engaged as a board member of the Hispanic Alliance of Georgia and volunteers with Atlanta Food Bank.
Throughout his career, Mr. Velasco has been most proud of structuring international operations that enable companies to comply with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, IRS, customs and tax regulations, allowing Hispanic brands to formally enter the U.S. market in a sustainable manner. His efforts have helped create jobs and contribute substantial tax revenue to the U.S. economy while providing certifications, technical knowledge, and guidance that foster corporate discipline and a global mindset.
One of Mr. Velasco's earliest milestones was independently creating and designing the branding for Tequila Brand in 2012, a product that later sold for $135 million. This achievement marked his emergence as a key player in developing successful consumer brands. Mr. Velasco's dedication to the Snacks Industry brand was influential in developing execution and point-of-sale strategies. Notably, he designed the approach that introduced Hispanics snacks to the U.S. market despite initial barriers to entry with major retailers such as Walmart and Kroger. Mr. Velasco personally traveled to Walmart's headquarters in Bentonville, Arkansas, to secure Walmart's approval and was tasked with building the brand, market by market and store by store, a process that contributed to reaching a $2 billion valuation brand.
Mr. Velasco's accomplishments have been recognized through several awards, including District Manager of the Year, Employee of the Year and Director of the Year from his previous employers. He attributes his success to keeping his faith at the center of his life, while also recognizing the confidence business leaders place in him because of his professional passion and commitment.
Looking ahead, Mr. Velasco plans to franchise his business worldwide to help other countries understand how to operate successfully in the U.S. market by teaching them key segments necessary before exporting products or services internationally. He intends to begin by opening franchises in major U.S. cities before expanding into international markets such as China, the Middle East and Europe.
