PITTSBURGH, PA, April 09, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Valerie Bowden has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Bowden has established herself as a prominent figure in the outsourcing and recruitment sector, most notably as the founder and chief executive officer of CRDLE, a Pennsylvania-based company she launched in 2022 when she was eight months pregnant. Under her leadership, CRDLE has become recognized for its innovative approach to offshore staffing, focusing exclusively on hiring talent from Africa. The company integrates team members into client organizations across various functions, including call center operations, customer service and virtual assistance. Ms. Bowden's commitment to integrating remote team members into client organizations in a meaningful and lasting way has been central to CRDLE's success.

Since its inception, CRDLE has experienced rapid growth, expanding to 160 team members in just a few years and anticipating further expansion to nearly 1,000 employees. The majority of hires are women, reflecting Ms. Bowden's dedication to diversity, equity and inclusion. She is particularly proud of the opportunities created for young professionals and mothers who can now balance work with family or graduate studies.

The company's rigorous recruitment process includes additional training and vetting to ensure high-quality placements. CRDLE's client base features a diverse array of organizations, from former National Football League players and technology companies to franchises and local businesses in Pittsburgh. Notably, the company has collaborated with high-profile individuals, including including executives from leading technology companies and academic institutions.

Ms. Bowden's influence extends beyond job creation; she is committed to ethical outsourcing practices by offering fair wages and promoting positive workplace integration. Her efforts have garnered industry recognition, earning her both bronze and silver Outsourcing Impact Awards for two consecutive years for her contributions to diversity, equity and inclusion in the sector. She is an executive member of Pavilion, where she continues to engage with leaders in business development.

She began her career as the founder of African Beat, where she consulted both U.S. and African-based companies seeking to expand through international trade and cross-border partnerships. During this time, she also authored a widely read ebook on backpacking across Africa, which has guided hundreds of travelers in navigating the continent with greater confidence and cultural understanding.

She later worked for a U.S.-based outsourcing company operating in Ethiopia, where she was first exposed to the growing trend of global companies building teams across Africa. This experience reshaped her perspective on outsourcing and underscored the broader impact of job creation in emerging markets.

Ms. Bowden's academic background includes a master's degree in social work from Barry University in Miami Shores, earned in 2011 and a Bachelor of Science in psychology and social work from Indiana Wesleyan University, completed in Marion in 2010. Growing up in Indiana instilled in Ms. Bowden the values of humility, kindness and friendliness. Her time living in Ethiopia profoundly influenced her perspective on community engagement and the importance of helping others.

Ms. Bowden's journey into outsourcing was inspired by firsthand experiences working with nonprofits across Africa after embarking on a solo backpacking trip through 13 African countries at age 25, a formative adventure that led her to reside in Ethiopia for eight years. Disillusioned by the limited impact of traditional charity models, Ms. Bowden recognized that sustainable job creation could empower communities more effectively than donations alone.

This realization guided Ms. Bowden's transition into the outsourcing industry while she was living in Ethiopia, where she observed both the potential and the shortcomings of existing models, particularly regarding fair compensation and cultural integration. These insights ultimately led her to establish CRDLE after relocating to Pittsburgh in 2022.

Professionally, Ms. Bowden aims to shift perceptions of offshore work by demonstrating that ethical outsourcing, grounded in fair wages and proper training, can produce high-quality, reliable teams and strong returns on investment. She also hopes to inspire a broader appreciation for African talent and opportunities. Reflecting on her own path, she emphasizes that her success did not stem from a prestigious background but from embracing new experiences and pursuing meaningful work, an approach that has enabled her to build a company with significant impact and high-profile clients.

Ms. Bowden is widely known for her adventurous spirit — her backpacking expeditions across Africa have been particularly celebrated — and she takes pride in challenging conventional perceptions about global hiring practices. By advocating for African talent as a viable alternative to traditional outsourcing destinations such as India and the Philippines, she has helped U.S. businesses expand their options while supporting economic development abroad.

Outside of her professional achievements, Ms. Bowden maintains an active lifestyle, enjoying healthy living, exercise, hiking and kayaking. She remains focused on expanding CRDLE's team and capabilities by pursuing key industry certifications that will support partnerships with larger enterprise clients. In addition, she is committed to educating organizations on the benefits of hiring talent from Africa through initiatives such as the "Choose Africa" commitment, with the goal of reshaping perceptions of offshore recruitment while advancing ethical employment practices.
