ATLANTA, GA, April 13, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Pamela Gayle Houser, RN, BA, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Ms. Houser has established herself as a distinguished leader in hospice care, founding and currently serving as chief executive officer of Symponia Hospice. With a career spanning four decades, she is recognized for her expertise in hospice and long-term care, and her unwavering commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate patient care. Under her leadership, Symponia Hospice has grown into a trusted provider across ten Metro Atlanta counties, earning the Best in Georgia designation for three consecutive years, 2023, 2024, and 2025. That sustained recognition reflects the organization's excellence and its standing within the community.
Ms. Houser has introduced several pioneering initiatives that have set her organization apart. Her company developed a unique music therapy program, which not only enhances the quality of life for patients but also serves as a mentorship platform for aspiring music therapists. The program's first master's level music therapist now mentors others entering the field and is currently working with her second intern. Virtual reality, massage, and pet therapy reflect Symponia's commitment to supportive care for their patients. Ms. Houser's dedication to staff retention and professional development has contributed to a congenial work environment and consistent delivery of exceptional care.
Ms. Houser's commitment to community extends beyond clinical care. She heads a national program, We Honor Veterans, that honors veterans and addresses critical mental health issues such as post-traumatic stress disorder, moral injury and suicide prevention, with a particular focus on Vietnam veterans who faced trauma and societal rejection upon returning home. Through this initiative, she actively educates communities about veteran issues, fostering greater understanding and support for those who have served.
Prior to her current position, Ms. Houser built a reputation as a health care executive in hospice and long-term care over 40 years, consistently demonstrating leadership in patient advocacy, program development and community engagement. Her expertise has been recognized by peers and industry alike.
Ms. Houser's academic background has played a significant role in shaping her professional journey. She started her academic journey at Grady Memorial Hospital and Georgia State University. She received two distinctive awards during her training, demonstrating her leadership and academic achievements that provided her with the clinical knowledge and administrative skills necessary for effective leadership in health care. She is certified as a registered nurse with a bachelor's degree in business. The pursuit of her master's in business administration degree was cut short when she became the COO of six nursing homes in Indiana and Georgia.
The values instilled by Ms. Houser's family have been instrumental in guiding her career and personal philosophy. Inspired by forward-thinking parents who championed human rights, open-mindedness and community service, she learned from an early age the importance of compassion, integrity and inclusivity. Her father's legacy as the first justice of the peace in his courthouse, where he broke racial barriers, and her mother's vibrant community involvement served as powerful examples of service and advocacy. Ms. Houser credits her mother-in-law, who was a teacher and nursing home administrator, for inspiring her with her humility and grace. These influences have shaped Ms. Houser's dedication to uplifting others and fostering environments where every individual is valued.
Outside of her professional responsibilities, Ms. Houser enjoys cooking with fresh ingredients, gardening, and exploring European culinary traditions. Looking ahead, she remains committed to advancing her mission of delivering the highest quality hospice care available. She plans to keep growing the We Honor Veterans initiative toward its fullest impact, and deep community education on the mental health challenges veterans face. Throughout, patient dignity and compassionate service remain the foundation of everything she does.
