Ms. Kunnassery has established a distinguished career in contract administration, demonstrating expertise and leadership across a range of high-profile infrastructure projects. Since 2023, she has served as an office engineer and transportation engineering technician for District 3 of Caltrans in Colfax, California. In this capacity, she manages the processing of submittals, requests for information and monthly payment estimates to contractors. She is also responsible for uploading documents to Falcon, the state's electronic document repository, ensuring meticulous recordkeeping and compliance with regulatory standards.

Prior to her current role, Ms. Kunnassery was a project controls engineer at Flatiron Construction, now FlatironDragados, in Sacramento from 2022 to 2023. There, she contributed to the oversight of project schedules and budgets, supporting the successful delivery of complex construction initiatives. In 2022, she held the position of project engineer at TELACU in East Palo Alto, where she coordinated engineering activities and facilitated communication between stakeholders.

In 2021, Ms. Kunnassery worked as an office engineer at Ghirardelli Associates in San Jose, where she managed documentation and contract administration for municipal projects. From 2019 to 2021, she served as an office engineer at Jacobs in the San Francisco Bay Area, further honing her skills in document control and project coordination. Her tenure as office engineer at HDR Inc. in 2019 and TRC between 2018 and 2019 in the same region involved similar responsibilities, emphasizing her adaptability and proficiency across multiple organizations.

From 2017 to 2019, Ms. Kunnassery was an office engineer at Vali Cooper in the San Francisco Bay Area. In 2017, she advanced to the role of project manager at STV Incorporated, overseeing project execution and ensuring adherence to client specifications. Between 2011 and 2017, she was a construction project manager at URS Corporation, now AECOM, where her performance earned her the Five Years of Service Award.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Kunnassery served as a crew leader assistant for the United States Department of Commerce in 2010. From 2007 to 2009, she achieved one of her most significant professional milestones as submittals engineer and document control manager for Washington Group International, now AECOM, in the Los Angeles metropolitan area. In this role on the Metro Gold Line Eastside Extension project, Ms. Kunnassery processed more than 3,000 submittals to LA Metro, the owner, contributing directly to the project's completion on time and within budget.

Ms. Kunnassery's foundational experience includes roles as Project Engineer at Turner Construction Company from 2004 to 2007 across Los Angeles, Orange and Riverside counties and at Swinerton Incorporated in Greater Sacramento in 2003.

Throughout her career, Ms. Kunnassery has contributed to high-profile infrastructure and construction projects, including the Metro Gold Line Eastside Extension, Disneyland Resort developments in Anaheim, the Palm Springs Convention Center Phase II and the Central Subway. She also worked on the Caltrain Bridge Replacement Program, the BART Earthquake Safety Program and at the NASA Ames Research Center. Additionally, she briefly supported the Honolulu Rail Transit Project.

Beyond her professional roles, Ms. Kunnassery maintains active involvement in both industry and civic organizations. She has been a member of the Construction Management Association of America since 2011 and, in 2024, began serving as the national council representative for SKCC in Sacramento.

Ms. Kunnassery's academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from California State University, Chico, conferred in 2002. She holds a Procore Certified: Project Manager (Core Tools) credential from Procore Technologies Inc., awarded in 2022, as well as certification as a Project Manager from AECOM.

Born in San Jose, California, Ms. Kunnassery enjoys traveling, taking road trips and participating in trivia nights outside of her professional commitments. She is committed to continuing her service with the Department of Transportation until retirement due to the benefits provided by the State for long-term employees. Additionally, Ms. Kunnassery is considering pursuing further engineering training to advance her career within the organization.
