COMPTON, CA, April 14, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Los Angeles United in Peace Foundation officially relaunched its Peace Ride initiative for 2026 with a community-focused event held in Compton, California. The initiative aims to foster unity and promote peace in neighborhoods across Los Angeles that have been impacted by recent violence.

Over 100 people gathered at a community parking lot, including members of multiple motorcycle and car clubs representing diverse faiths and backgrounds. Riders represented groups such as the Chosen Few, Buffalo Soldiers, Ghetto Boyz, and Black Widow. Many wore leather vests with badges of loved ones who have been killed in gang violence. Pastor David May of Lighthouse Community Church in Watts led the group in prayer, then all returned to their vehicles to start the ride.

The procession of motorcycles, low riders, corvettes and 3-wheeled vehicles called "slingshots" drove through neighborhoods in South Central Los Angeles, then arrived at Gonzales Park in Compton.

After the riders parked and took photos, they ate BBQ and had drinks and chips under the shade trees of the park. Then Pastor Powe invited everyone to join in the ride for peace the fourth Sunday of each month and raise awareness of how community involvement can curb gang and gun violence. He said, "This is why we ride. It takes one to save one. Are YOU the one?"

A member of the Ghetto Boyz shared the heartbreaking loss of his 28-year-old son, who was killed in a recent drive-by shooting. He explained that his son had been working to turn his life around, leaving behind past mistakes and recently securing a long-awaited job, with training set to begin soon. The father expressed profound sorrow over the senseless violence that cut his son's life short at such a pivotal moment. With the support of a minister, he found some comfort in reflecting on his son's positive qualities and the progress he had made. The moment concluded with the father embracing and thanking the minister for his compassion and guidance during an unimaginably difficult time.

As part of the outreach, volunteers also distributed The Way to Happiness booklets, a non-religious guide promoting positive values and practical principles for better living written by by L. Ron Hubbard, Humanitarian and founder of Scientology Religion.

Additionally Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre International has supported the Peace Rides since its inception, providing funds, The Way to Happiness Booklets and moral support alongside of the Founders.
