HERNDON, VA, April 16, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Veera V.S.B. Nunna has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Earning recognition for nearly 15 years of expertise and innovative technical contributions, Mr. Nunna has led a distinguished career in knowledge management and graph technologies. Since 2024, he has served as a principal knowledge engineer and tech advisor at Amazon Web Services (AWS) — the culmination of a decade with the company — where he has played a pivotal role in advancing the company's capabilities in automated knowledge graph development.
Though his journey at AWS counts many milestones, Mr. Nunna's most notable achievement to date is his development of the patent "Ontology-Based Approach for Modeling Service Dependencies in a Provider Network," which he successfully implemented in a production environment. This accomplishment transformed knowledge graph creation, which was once a highly manual process, into an automated system and significantly enhanced its efficiency and scalability. His research findings have been published in influential journals including the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), further underscoring his reputation throughout the field.
Prior to reaching his current position at AWS, Mr. Nunna excelled as a senior data engineer from 2023 to 2024. In this capacity, he contributed to large-scale data engineering projects, standards and solutions, leveraging his deep understanding of cloud-based analytics and knowledge graph architecture to drive innovation within the organization.
From 2021 to 2022, Mr. Nunna held the role of data engineer II at AWS, focusing on optimizing data pipelines and supporting the integration of advanced analytics solutions across the company's global infrastructure. As a professional services cloud architect for nearly three years, he provided strategic guidance to major clients such as Fannie Mae and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) on cloud adoption and best architecture practices.
Mr. Nunna initially joined AWS as a big data cloud engineer in 2016, during which he specialized in designing scalable solutions for business analysts and customers that supported enterprise-level analytics initiatives.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Nunna was a web developer and administrator at The University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center from 2013 to 2015. Designing a brand new training website, he managed web applications and contributed to the digital transformation of health sciences education and e-learning platforms at the institution.
Before relocating to the United States, Mr. Nunna began his professional journey as a technical consultant at Ghoom Solutions Pvt. Ltd. (now WinFocus Solutions) in Hyderabad, India, from 2012 to 2013, during which he provided technical solutions for diverse client needs in the railway sector.
Throughout his career, Mr. Nunna has demonstrated a commitment to continuous professional development and industry engagement. He is a senior member of IEEE and holds additional memberships with the British Computer Society (BCS), Sigma Xi and the National Society of Professional Engineers. To expand his qualifications, he is certified in data analytics, machine learning, big data and solutions architecture, all by AWS.
Hailing from an equally accomplished academic background, Mr. Nunna earned a Master of Science in computer science from the School of Engineering at The University of New Mexico in 2015. He also holds a Bachelor of Technology in information technology from Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management (GITAM), completed in 2012. Determined to make an impact outside the classroom as well, he served as vice president of the Computer Society of India at GITAM in both 2011 and 2012.
Reflecting on his storied journey to date, Mr. Nunna attributes much of his success to having exceptional mentors throughout his career, particularly his former supervisor Mike Foley, whose guidance and opportunities were vital in Mr. Nunna's professional growth. He also acknowledges the enduring support of his family — especially his father as a role model — as well as his wife's unwavering love and encouragement as essential to his achievements.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Mr. Nunna has demonstrated civic commitment through three years of service as a food relief worker with the National Service Scheme in India, during which he aided in the development of an adopted village in 2010 and helped victims of the Krishna River flood in 2009.
Happily married and a proud father, Mr. Nunna enjoys flying — he is licensed as a private pilot by the Federal Aviation Administration — as well as spending quality time with his family and going on bike rides with his daughter. Determined to further his impact in the coming years, he aspires to advance as a leader within the data engineering industry by directing major divisions and attaining executive positions such as director or chief officer roles.
