RALEIGH, NC, April 17, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Gerardo Mora has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Mora is the owner and architect of MM Design Concepts LLC, a firm he established in 2022. In this role, he manages marketing and business development, responds to client inquiries, consults with prospective clients on project scope, site requirements and analyzes site context, including orientation, climate and surroundings. Additionally, he develops conceptual designs and floor plans, specializing in modern luxury single family and multifamily residential design in the Raleigh area. Mr. Mora's work adapts architectural solutions to diverse climates and regions while submitting proposals for residential projects across multiple states.
A hallmark of Mr. Mora's practice is the integration of sustainability, natural ventilation and daylighting strategies into each project. His most notable achievement lies in his ability to combine sustainable design with the practicality of building science. He emphasizes the importance of building envelope systems, strategic window placement for optimal natural ventilation and thoughtful consideration of architectural details such as ceiling height and window orientation to enhance energy efficiency and livability.
Prior to engaging full-time with MM Design Concepts LLC, Mr. Mora served as a project architect at JDavis Inc. from 2023 to 2024 and as a senior designer from 2022 to 2023. In this capacity, he contributed to the conceptualization, development, and oversaw large-scale residential projects. He also coordinated with consultants and clients ensuring that design intent was maintained throughout all phases of construction documentation and administration.
Between 2017 and 2022, he worked as a project manager at Davis Kane Architects PA. In this role, he managed project designs, internal design teams, schedules, client communications, and consultant coordination for a variety of commercial and institutional projects.
In 2016, Mr. Mora gained experience as a real estate architectural intern through Self-Help, where he assisted with site analysis, feasibility studies and preliminary design work for community-focused developments. That same year, he participated as a fellow intern in the Public Interest Architecture Program with Perkins+Will through North Carolina State University.
Mr. Mora's educational background has been instrumental in shaping his approach to architecture. He earned a Master of Architecture degree from North Carolina State University in Raleigh in 2017, where he focused on conceptual design while integrating practical knowledge from earlier studies; allowing him to refine his conceptual design approach while grounding it in real-world applications. He also completed coursework during a study abroad program at the Prague Institute in 2016, expanding his global architectural perspective and knowledge.
In 2014, Mr. Mora received a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, where he developed a strong foundation in building envelope systems and materials, knowledge that continues to influence his emphasis on sustainability and energy efficiency today. His academic journey began with coursework in architectural technology at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in Green Bay in 2011. His academic excellence has been recognized through honors, including being named a Lawton Scholar at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and earning placement on the Dean's List.
Beyond his academic achievements, Mr. Mora maintains active professional credentials and affiliations. He holds an architect license from the State of North Carolina through the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. He is also an active member of the American Institute of Architects, reflecting his ongoing commitment to professional development within the field.
The trajectory of Mr. Mora's career has been shaped by formative influences, beginning with his upbringing in Jalisco and continuing through his relocation to Wisconsin at 1½ years old. Raised by parents who migrated from Mexico seeking better opportunities for their children, he was instilled with a deep appreciation for education and hard work. Their sacrifices inspired him throughout his academic pursuits — from learning English as a child and navigating ESL classes, to discovering architecture through drafting courses initially intended for carpentry training.
Encouraged by professors who recognized his potential, Mr. Mora transitioned from technical studies to design school at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, a move that broadened his perspective on architecture's creative possibilities. The works of Frank Lloyd Wright left a lasting impression on him during this period, particularly regarding the integration of natural elements into built environments. Frequent visits to Mexico further enriched his understanding by allowing him to compare architectural styles and appreciate the interplay between indoor and outdoor spaces.
Beyond his professional achievements, Mr. Mora has demonstrated civic engagement through volunteer work, feeding the unhoused and donating to the Special Olympics. He is also a former volunteer with the Salvation Army. In his personal life, he enjoys playing soccer, spending time outdoors, riding bikes and visiting parks and lakes with his family.
Looking ahead, Mr. Mora intends to establish himself as a custom single family residential architect to clients and a developer-architect dedicated to addressing North Carolina's housing shortage through sustainable development practices. His work will focus on preserving natural landscapes while offering thoughtfully designed homes tailored to client and community needs, rather than mass-produced models that often lack quality or character.
