SCRANTON, PA, April 16, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Pennsylvania Central District of the Knights of Columbus convened its biennial meeting on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the Urban Co-Works Conference Center in Scranton, Pennsylvania. The gathering brought together Faithful Navigators, Assembly leaders, and Sir Knights from across the district for a meaningful day of reflection, leadership, and planning for the future.

District Master Brian C. Hallock presided over the meeting his final biennial and formal district assembly before the conclusion of his term on August 31, 2026. Representatives from throughout the district were in attendance, demonstrating the strength and unity of the Fourth Degree.

In his address, Master Hallock challenged those present with a simple but powerful question: "Why are you here?" He emphasized that the work of the Knights is rooted in faith, service to the Church, and dedication to family. Reflecting on his tenure, he recalled a time when the district faced significant challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic and a period of transition within the Order. Through perseverance and commitment, he noted, the district emerged stronger than before. "This district didn't fade or quit," he said, commending the men who remained steadfast and helped rebuild the Fourth Degree with professionalism and pride.

At the conclusion of his remarks, Master Hallock was met with a prolonged standing ovation and a resounding round of applause an unmistakable tribute to his leadership and the respect he has earned throughout the district.

The meeting also highlighted the remarkable growth and activity within the district. Over the past four years, the Color Corps has expanded from approximately a twenty members to more than 100 dedicated Sir Knights. Together, they have participated in 415 events, including Masses, funerals, civic ceremonies, and public celebrations demonstrating a visible commitment to faith, patriotism, and service.

District Secretary John Meenan reinforced the importance of continued growth and engagement, encouraging members to take pride in their role and to actively invite others to join. "We are Catholic and we are here to stay," he affirmed, calling on members to inspire the next generation of Knights.

Spiritual reflection remained a central theme throughout the meeting. District Friar Rev. Michael Boris encouraged members to deepen their faith and trust in their mission, urging them to move "from a doubting Thomas to a believing John" to believe in the impact of their efforts even when results are not immediately visible.

Additional presentations and reports provided insight into membership trends, training opportunities, and upcoming initiatives. Leaders discussed strategies to strengthen Fourth Degree membership, expand participation, and enhance collaboration with local councils. The district also announced upcoming exemplifications, training sessions, and key events aimed at sustaining its continued momentum. Nominations for District Master were conducted to succeed Master Hallock after August 31, 2026.

As Master Hallock prepares to conclude his term, he expressed sincere gratitude for the opportunity to serve and confidence in the district's future. "It's not about a title; it's about being better together," he said, encouraging all members to leave with renewed commitment and purpose.

With strong leadership, growing membership, and a renewed sense of mission, the Pennsylvania Central District continues to build on its foundation remaining steadfast in its commitment to faith, unity, and service to Church and community.
