RICHMOND, VA, April 21, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mitchell Jeffery, M.A., CDP, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Marked by more than 15 years of progressive experience, Mr. Jeffery has led a distinguished career in human resources consulting, behavioral health and organizational leadership. As the Founder and Principal Consultant of The Ember Collective, which he established in 2025, he is responsible for all aspects of the business including client service delivery, marketing strategy, business development, billing and financial management. Under his leadership, The Ember Collective has become recognized for its innovative approach to human resources consulting and fractional HR services, particularly within the health care and behavioral health sectors.
Alongside his endeavors with The Ember Collective, Mr. Jeffery has held several key leadership roles in human resources at prominent organizations. From 2023 to 2025, he was Assistant Vice President of Human Resources at Bradford Health Services in Richmond, Virginia, where he oversaw a team of 20 members including talent acquisition experts, HR directors and operations specialists who drove recruitment and employee relations initiatives.
In early 2023, Mr. Jeffery served as the Human Resources Director at Summit Behavioral Healthcare, which treats patients in need through acute psychiatric care, health and wellness programs, and detoxification plans. His expertise in employee relations and organizational culture was further demonstrated during his time as a contracted director of employee experience and success at Breakthrough Behavior, where he oversaw relations with vendors in the retirement, benefits and brokerage sectors.
From 2021 to 2022, Mr. Jeffery was the Director of Human Resources and Patient Support at Acadia Healthcare in Santa Fe, New Mexico, overseeing the patient support team after initially joining the company as human resources director in 2021. He also contributed to Inclusion Health in San Francisco as a freelance consultant from 2020 to 2022, providing guidance on organizational safety and enhanced accessibility for all employees. Earlier roles include Family and Academic Support Liaison at Insight School of Michigan from 2018 to 2021 and Human Resources Manager at Volunteers of America in 2018.
Mr. Jeffery's wide-ranging experience in employee relations and recruitment includes positions as a Senior Human Resources Generalist at Munters — a global leader in climate-friendly solutions — in 2017, Employee Relations Specialist at Bronson Healthcare from 2016 to 2017 and Human Resources Generalist at Thermo Fisher Scientific (Phadia Inc.) from 2014 to 2016. He began his professional career as a human resources administrator at the automotive supplier Janesville Acoustics in Michigan, following research and marketing internships with Korn/Ferry International and Albion College, respectively, in 2012.
In addition to his consulting work, Mr. Jeffery is an active speaker at DisruptHR events, sharing his insights on workplace innovation, inclusive policy development and the importance of leadership through being one's authentic self. He has been featured in USA Today for his pioneering approach to employee benefits, earning national recognition for his outstanding contributions to workplace culture.
Together with his primary roles, Mr. Jeffery is a respected member of several industry organizations including the Society for Human Resource Management, the Institute for Diversity Certification, and TroopHR. To enhance his ability to drive meaningful change within organizations while supporting diverse teams, he was certified as a diversity professional in 2022 and has obtained certificates in cognitive coaching through Thinking Collaborative and professional selling skills through AchieveGlobal.
Hailing from an equally accomplished academic background, Mr. Jeffery holds a Master of Arts in sociology with a focus on gender and sexuality from Wayne State University. His thesis explored critical issues related to gender identity and sexual orientation — an accomplishment he regards among his most significant. He also earned a Bachelor of Arts in communications, economics and management from Albion College, where he made an impact outside the classroom as a member of the Student Senate and the Inter Fraternity Council.
Reflecting on his storied journey to date, Mr. Jeffery attributes his success primarily to the resilience he developed through overcoming personal challenges during his childhood. After initially entering the workforce through the automotive industry following his graduation from Albion College, he quickly transitioned into health care roles before focusing exclusively on behavioral health — including addiction treatment, autism therapy and psychiatry — for nearly a decade. Anticipating layoffs due to financial instability at a previous employer, he took the initiative and established his own consulting firm.
Also known for his civic-minded contributions, Mr. Jeffrey founded and served as commissioner of Stonewall Sports Detroit, a nonprofit athletics organization dedicated to providing a safe recreational space for LGBTQ+ athletes. He also served as president of the Graduate Queer Alliance at Wayne State University from 2019 to 2020, logistics chair for the American Cancer Society from 2009 to 2010, and chairman of the Parks, Recreation & Cemetery Advisory Board for the City of Marshall from 2016 to 2017.
Balancing his responsibilities as a proud father of one daughter, Mr. Jeffery maintains a nomadic lifestyle that began in 2024 after he recognized that extensive travel was already integral to his professional endeavors. He now travels throughout the United States with a particular focus on southern regions while making frequent visits to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Although he has stepped back from much of his volunteer work to concentrate on building The Ember Collective into a sustainable enterprise, he continues to participate in public speaking engagements that advance industry knowledge.
Determined to further his impact in the coming years, Mr. Jeffery envisions substantial expansion for The Ember Collective by building workplace cultures rooted in practical, inclusive policies that benefit entire organizations rather than catering solely to outliers or specific employees. His goal is to create environments where employees are motivated, empowered and inspired to contribute positively, reflecting his longstanding commitment to logical solutions and diversity over traditional strategies within modern-day workplaces.
