The special event, held at the Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre International in Hollywood, celebrated both the vibrant culture of Sri Lanka and Earth Day 2026.

The gathering marked a significant community effort to make a tangible difference in the city of Los Angeles. In a unified act of giving back, attendees will participate in replanting trees in wildfire-burned areas of the city, directly aiding in the ongoing restoration of local ecosystems affected by the devastating 2025 wildfires. As part of the initiative, each child present was awarded a special certificate from the City of Los Angeles. These were handed out to each child by the evening's keynote speaker, Mr. Sarath Gunapala, senior scientist of NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Along with that, each child received a baby tree, which they will personally plant in designated wildfire restoration sites, committing to nurture and care for these trees in the coming years.

The event featured a stunning exhibition showcasing over one hundred breathtaking close-up photos of Sri Lanka's remarkable wildlife, including elephants, tigers, monkeys, deer, and colorful birds. These photographs vividly captured the cohabitation of man and nature on the lush island, emphasizing the interconnectedness of all living beings.

The Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre International, host of the event, also shares a strong commitment to environmental stewardship. As part of its global outreach, the church distributes The Way to Happiness booklets, a non-religious guide written by L.
