He also earned his medical degree from the University of California, San Diego in 1994. Dr. Abdeen received his Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from California State Polytechnic University in 1990. He is affiliated with the American College of Physicians, the National Kidney Foundation, and the American Society of Hypertension. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology and a former member of the American Heart Association. He stays current with the trends in his profession by reading the Journal of the American Society of Nephrology, the American Journal of Kidney Disease and the New England Journal of Medicine.
