Under his guidance, the practice has expanded steadily, with new locations opening in 2006, 2009, 2011, 2020 and 2025. Notably, he considers the successful launch and sustainability of two clinics during major national upheavals, namely the 2008 housing crash and the COVID-19 pandemic, among his most significant professional milestones. Prior to founding Total Sports Therapy, Dr. Giardina was the head athletic trainer at Saint Mary's Catholic High School from 2001 to 2005. Concurrently, he held the position of director of athletic training services and physical therapist at Rehab Plus Physical Therapy from 2001 to 2005, where he managed clinical operations and contributed to patient care in an outpatient setting.

Dr. Giardina's academic foundation includes a Doctor of Physical Therapy from Arizona School of Health Sciences at A.T. Still University, earned in 2001. He previously completed a Bachelor of Science with honors in exercise science with a pre-physical therapy emphasis at Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri, in 1998. Additionally, he holds licensure as a physical therapist in the state of Arizona and was a licensed athletic trainer for 20 years.

Throughout his career, Dr. Giardina has attributed much of his growth to word-of-mouth referrals from satisfied patients and physicians who have witnessed the quality of care provided by his practice. His proactive outreach to referral sources and dedication to distinguishing Total Sports Therapy from competitors have been instrumental in building a strong reputation within the community.

Dr. Giardina's civic engagement includes volunteering and donating to The Pink Ribbon Foundation, supporting fundraising efforts for Stealing Hearts Rescue and sponsoring Truman State University physical therapy students through the Total Sports Therapy Graduate Studies Scholarship. In his personal life, Dr. Giardina enjoys golfing and skiing as hobbies, along with practicing fitness. He is supported by his wife—whom he met during their undergraduate studies—who initially worked in cardiac rehabilitation before becoming office manager as their clinic expanded. Together, they have two daughters, one of whom is interested in physical therapy and possibly taking over ownership of the company in the future.

Throughout his career, Dr. Giardina's professional excellence has been recognized with several honors, including being named Top Physical Therapy Practice in North Valley by North Valley Magazine for three years and receiving distinction as an Alumni Fellow from Truman State University.
