BROOKLYN, NY, May 15, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kareem Collins has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Collins has distinguished himself as an entrepreneur at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, where he has developed a specialized career in cancer exercise since 2020. His approach is rooted in providing hope and guidance for individuals navigating the complexities of recovery, particularly those facing post-cancer challenges. Over nearly seven years in this role, he has implemented a hybrid model of care, delivering virtual sessions via Zoom to clients across the United States—including as far as New Mexico—while also conducting in-person training locally. His weekly schedule is carefully structured to balance the physical demands of his work: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays are dedicated to virtual sessions, while Tuesdays and Thursdays combine early-morning remote work with in-person training.

Mr. Collins' client base is notably diverse, encompassing referrals from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, long-term clients from his decade-long tenure in the industry and individuals who connect with him through word-of-mouth. Each session is tailored to address stretching, range of motion, strength, coordination and stability, with a distinctive emphasis on cognitive-physical integration. Mr. Collins requires patients to count aloud or speak during exercises—a method designed to promote consistent breathing and foster a deeper understanding of their bodies' capabilities after treatment. He takes particular pride in witnessing his patients overcome fear and embrace new possibilities through his modalities, especially as he demonstrates exercises despite managing his own autoimmune condition. This visible resilience inspires trust and bravery among those he serves.

In 2023, Mr. Collins expanded his professional reach by assuming the role of cancer exercise specialist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. That same year, he became a fitness coach at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in New York City, where he supports young adults with autism, a commitment that complements his broader advocacy for inclusive fitness. Additionally, he maintains an ongoing affiliation with the Mount Sinai Parkinson's exercise program and has been a Parkinson's exercise program instructor at 92nd Street Young Men's and Young Women's Hebrew Association (92NY), Mount Sinai St. Luke's and Mount Sinai Roosevelt since 2014. In these roles, he has worked extensively with older adults managing Parkinson's disease, further solidifying his expertise in neurological rehabilitation.

From 2002 to 2014, Mr. Collins served as a personal trainer, exercise instructor and coach at Long Island University and New York Sports Club throughout the New York City metropolitan area. During this formative period, he conducted research on hypertension and conventional exercise protocols for both younger and older adults at Long Island University. His early career established a foundation that would later support his transition into medical exercise specialization. He also continues to serve as a boxing and track and field coach, adapting these roles to accommodate his physical condition while maintaining high standards of technical instruction.

Academically, Mr Collins' background includes studies in kinesiology and exercise science from Brooklyn College in 2004. He has advanced his professional development through certifications such as the cancer exercise specialist program from the Cancer Exercise Training Institute and inclusive fitness training through the American Council on Exercise, complemented by extensive coursework through the Athletics and Fitness Association of America focused on human movement science, rehabilitation, neurological conditions and exercise-based recovery for chronic illness.

Consistency has been central to Mr. Collins's professional philosophy—remaining steadfastly dedicated to his goals and clients even during periods when health challenges required him to adapt his daily activities. This unwavering commitment has ensured that he remains a reliable presence for those seeking guidance through recovery. In recognition of his contributions to cancer exercise, he was inducted into America's Best in Medicine in 2026—a milestone marked by receipt of a commemorative plaque celebrating his impact within medical fitness.

The loss of Mr. Collins's mother to metastatic brain cancer in 2019 was a pivotal moment that influenced his decision to specialize further in cancer exercise during the 2020 quarantine period. Immersing himself in advanced coursework through the Cancer Exercise Training Institute, he studied the physiological impacts of numerous cancers—focusing on postural alignments and muscle distortions resulting from chemotherapy and radiation—which led directly to his recruitment by Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

In January 2025, Mr. Collins was diagnosed with neuromyelitis optica (NMO), a rare autoimmune condition where the immune system attacks the central nervous system and the optic nerves of the eyes, resulting in transverse myelitis affecting his legs. Despite these significant physical limitations—which impacted his ability to run or jump—he continues to walk actively, leveraging his personal experience with rehabilitation as both an inspiration for patients and a testament to adaptive resilience.

Mr. Collins's civic engagement is extensive. He is an annual participant in the Wings for Life World Run—a global event supporting spinal cord research—where he walks each step proudly despite personal health challenges. Through the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, he supports young adults with autism by providing specialized coaching tailored to their unique needs. His longstanding involvement with 92NY also reflects a deep commitment to community wellness initiatives.

Mr. Collins also regularly donates his athleticism and expertise to philanthropic causes, including cancer walks, medical research fundraising efforts and broader community support programs. Further extending his influence, he launched "New Journey: Living with Autoimmune Conditions" in 2026—a podcast designed to share insights about living well with chronic illness while fostering community among listeners facing similar challenges.

Outside professional commitments, Mr. Collins prioritizes physical fitness as an integral part of daily life. He finds fulfillment in gardening—enjoying the process of nurturing growth—and seeks solace in music as well as quiet moments immersed in nature away from city noise. Time spent with his niece and nephew also enriches his personal life.

Looking ahead, Mr. Collins is actively working toward establishing a specialized gym and rehabilitation center designed to accommodate oncology patients, individuals living with Parkinson's disease or autoimmune conditions and others requiring coordinated care within an inclusive environment featuring diverse modalities, such as boxing for stress relief and hand-eye coordination.
