During his undergraduate studies, he had the unique opportunity to learn directly from Apollo 11 astronaut Neil Armstrong, who joined the university's College of Engineering as a faculty member after completing the Apollo space program. Taking Armstrong's class as an elective allowed Mr. Klopfer to develop advanced skills in orbital mechanics, including calculating orbital velocity based on satellite altitude and performing complex mathematical analyses essential for satellite operations.

Reflecting on his career, Mr. Klopfer attributes much of his success to personal determination forged through early setbacks outside of college and during his initial entrepreneurial efforts after leaving corporate employment.
