Prior to reaching her current role at North Shore Health, Ms. Bohacheff began her tenure there as a public health assistant from 2021 to 2022, supporting various public health initiatives and contributing to the department's mission of improving community well-being. She initially entered the field as an infodemiology intern at for the Zilber College of Public Health at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee from 2020 to 2021, during which she gained valuable early experience in research, data analysis and public health communication.

Before transitioning into public health, Ms. Bohacheff built a robust background in supply chain management and continuous improvement. Hailing from an equally accomplished academic background, Ms. Bohacheff earned a Master of Public Health from the Zilber College of Public Health at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and completed a residency in the New to Public Health program at University of Wisconsin-Madison, both in 2022. Her undergraduate studies culminated in a Bachelor of Business Administration in production and operations management from Lubar College of Business, which was complemented by coursework in microbiology at University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Recognized for her longstanding academic excellence, she was twice selected for inclusion in Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities.

Ms. Bohacheff's career trajectory was influenced by early aspirations of becoming an infectious disease scientist with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Happily married and a proud stepmother of two, Ms. Bohacheff enjoys reading extensively — often reaching 100 books each year — alongside creative pursuits such as photography, traveling, painting and art appreciation. Reflecting on her storied journey to date, she attributes her success to the unwavering support provided by her mother and grandmother who encouraged her pursuit of happiness and making a difference; her husband who has stood by her through career changes; and a circle of friends comprised of strong, independent women who all uplift one another.

Looking toward the future, Ms. Bohacheff aims to educate more people about the importance of public health beyond traditional perceptions such as vaccines, highlighting issues like mental health and social isolation, trauma informed care, food insecurity, healthy literacy and advocating for plain language communication when engaging with communities. She is developing an innovative approach for community health improvement planning that emphasizes continuous assessment and responsiveness based on real-time local data so that evolving needs can be met more effectively — a model she hopes will inspire broader adoption among other health departments.
