LOS ANGELES, CA, May 27, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The 9th Edition of the Amerika Prestige Awards was successfully held on May 23, 2025, at the Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre International, bringing together distinguished leaders, professionals, entertainers, entrepreneurs, writers, beauty queens, and humanitarian advocates for an evening of recognition and celebration.

The event was produced by Sam Azurel, a respected organizer who has produced Filipino awards events for more than 20 years, honoring excellence and community leadership both locally and internationally.

Numerous outstanding individuals received Certificates of Recognition from the City of Los Angeles and the California State Assembly and all were presented with commemorative statue awards in recognition of their achievements.

Among the notable awardees honored during the evening were:

Lynda P. Johnson, recognized as the first Filipina American to serve as mayor of the City of Cerritos, California.

John Mirisch, three-time mayor of Beverly Hills and current member of the Beverly Hills City Council.

Sir James C. Baker II, recipient of the Outstanding Philanthropist honor for his humanitarian efforts through the Philippine Feeding and Support Program, which has helped feed more than 7,000 children over the past seven years.

Esteban Steven Escobar, recognized for his work creating Diversity News Magazine and his longtime organization, Diversity News Media Brands.

As well, a professional nurse was honored for his 35 years of nursing service and 40-year career as a freelance writer. He is also the author of two books inspired by his nursing experiences, highlighting compassionate patient care, recovery support, and the dignity provided to individuals during life's most vulnerable moments.

According to organizers, the Amerika Prestige Awards recognizes individuals whose work demonstrates purpose-driven leadership, social impact, professional excellence, and humanitarian service. The award also seeks to inspire future generations by celebrating stories of resilience, dedication, hope, and positive change.
