MODESTO, CA, June 01, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Deborah Morgan has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Ms. Morgan has demonstrated exceptional dedication and expertise throughout her nearly five-decade career as the owner of Deborah Morgan Dance Studio, which she established in 1977 in Turlock, California. Since founding the studio, she has managed all aspects of its operations, including overseeing the office, teaching classes in the afternoons and evenings and supervising additional instructors. Her commitment to excellence in ballet and musical theatre has positioned her as a respected authority in these disciplines.
Beyond technical dance training, Ms. Morgan is dedicated to cultivating young women and men of strong character who will go on to excel in all areas of life and contribute meaningfully to their communities. Central to her philosophy is the understanding that many of her students will not pursue professional dance careers, although she has had more than her share who have pursued dance and theatre careers. Her true mission is to develop well-rounded, accomplished individuals who carry themselves with confidence, integrity and grace, both on and off the stage of life.
A pivotal moment arrived during Ms. Morgan's summer before her senior year at San Jose State University: after performing with the San Jose Ballet Company, she was presented with the opportunity to open her own studio. Recognizing the potential for a stable and fulfilling career, she rented space at the end of her junior year and spent the following year dividing her time between San Jose and Turlock to establish her business. Over the years, Ms. Morgan's leadership has guided Deborah Morgan Dance Studio to regional and national prominence, with her group earning numerous competition awards and recognition for outstanding instruction, choreography, technique and costuming.
Ms. Morgan graduated with honors and distinction from San Jose State University in 1978, earning bachelors degrees in theatre and dance with concentrations in music and child development. Her academic achievements provided a strong foundation for her teaching philosophy and artistic vision. She credits much of her success to Dr. Gwendolyn Jensen, her adoptive mother, whose guidance was instrumental throughout her university years and adult life. Growing up on a farm instilled in Ms. Morgan a strong work ethic from an early age - she began working in the fields at age 7 driving tractors and more - which proved invaluable as she built and sustained her studio.
Among Ms. Morgan's most significant achievements is her credential as an instructor for the American Ballet Theatre of New York, New York (the National Ballet Company of the United States). ABT has the distinction of being supported by the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School of Ballet. This accomplishment stands as a testament to Ms. Morgan's expertise and commitment to professional standards in dance education. Additionally, Ms. Morgan is an accredited instructor for The Protocol School of Washington, founded by Dorothea Johnson and Letitia Baldrige, where she integrates etiquette training into her dance curriculum. She emphasizes professionalism through "dance lessons are life lessons" which include interviewing, first impressions, handshaking, portfolio/interviewing presentations and dining skills — preparing students for success both on stage and in life.
Ms. Morgan's production group, Bodies Electric, celebrates over 45 years under her direction. The ensemble has performed internationally in Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Canada and across Europe. Notably, they have been invited multiple times to perform at Euro Disney in Paris, a rare honor for groups outside Disney's own staff and Ms. Morgan has choreographed shows for all three Disney parks. One of her first memorable accomplishments was when The Bodies Electric group won West Coast Finals Championship at Tremaine Dance Conventions and competed at nationals in New York, New York.
Complementing her formal degrees, Ms. Morgan's accolades include being listed in Who's Who Among American High School Students, Life Member of CSF and receiving the Best Instructor Award for the Central Valley of California for several years prior to the program's conclusion due to COVID-19.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Ms. Morgan is civically engaged as a supporter of organizations such as the Wounded Warrior Project and Disabled American Veterans. She is a founding member of the World War II Museum in New Orleans and advocates for animal welfare through involvement with the World Wildlife Fund, ASPCA and People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. Additionally, Ms. Morgan supports Habitat for Humanity International.
Born in Ceres, California Ms. Morgan enjoys gardening and traveling during her personal time. Looking ahead, she is committed to ensuring that Deborah Morgan Dance Studio continues its legacy of excellence by identifying the next capable person or persons to carry forward its unique approach and values, ensuring that its impact endures well into the future.
