CINCINNATI, OH, June 01, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Katherine Hoffmann has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Hoffmann founded SMART Reviews in 2012 with a focus on litigation support services for mass tort and complex litigation firms. Drawing from her experience in clinical healthcare, as well as working on both the plaintiff and defense sides of litigation as a medical paralegal, she built the company around one core principle: law firms needed operational support partners who truly understood the medical, procedural, and human side of litigation.

Over the years, SMART Reviews expanded into a nationally recognized litigation support company providing services that include medical record review, plaintiff fact sheet management, chronologies, deposition preparation, claimant outreach, and operational support across high-volume litigations.

In 2024, after years of witnessing growing instability in the litigation marketing space, Hoffmann launched SMART Reviews' Secondary QC and claimant validation division — a move that would quickly position the company at the center of industry conversations surrounding fraud prevention, claimant verification, and marketing accountability. At a time when firms were increasingly facing issues involving fabricated claims, coached narratives, falsified documentation, and non-responsive claimants, SMART Reviews introduced an independent validation process designed to evaluate whether signed claimants were legitimate, reachable, and compensable before firms committed substantial costs and internal resources to their cases.

What began as an operational safeguard rapidly became one of the company's defining services.
Under Hoffmann's leadership, SMART Reviews has helped law firms identify significant inefficiencies in case acquisition while protecting millions in marketing spend tied to non-viable or fraudulent claims. The company's work has also contributed to broader industry scrutiny surrounding low-quality lead generation practices and accountability standards within litigation marketing.

"Kate has never been interested in simply following industry trends," said a SMART Reviews spokesperson. "She built SMART Reviews by identifying operational gaps other people overlooked and creating systems to solve them. The validation division is a perfect example of that. She saw where the industry was headed before most people were willing to acknowledge the problem."

Despite the company's growth, Hoffmann remains heavily involved in daily operations. She continues to oversee campaign implementation, criteria development, intake quality standards, and operational workflows across the organization. Known for her hands-on leadership style, she has built a culture centered on adaptability, accountability, and operational precision.

Beyond business growth, Hoffmann has also prioritized creating opportunities for working mothers within the workforce. SMART Reviews has provided flexible career opportunities to more than 100 women, many of whom balance professional responsibilities alongside raising children. Hoffmann has often credited her own experiences with motherhood as a driving force behind the company culture she intentionally created.

In addition to leading SMART Reviews, Hoffmann is an active speaker and commentator within the legal industry, regularly contributing insights on litigation operations, fraud prevention, claimant screening, and mass tort trends. She is also affiliated with The National Legal Vendor Association.

Outside of her professional accomplishments, Hoffmann is involved in community initiatives, including sponsorship of several youth programs. She is also a mother of three and frequently credits her children as one of the driving forces behind both her work ethic and leadership philosophy. She is quick to say that without the support of her children, there would be no SMART Reviews.

Looking ahead, Hoffmann remains focused on strengthening operational integrity within the legal industry while ensuring legitimate claimants remain the priority in an increasingly complex litigation landscape.
