From 2022 to 2023, Mr. Vanderhoof held the positions of senior estimator and preconstruction manager at NW Umpqua Roofing & Waterproofing Inc. In these roles, he was responsible for overseeing project estimates for commercial work and managing preconstruction activities through contract negotiation, supply chain management, and procurement, drawing on his analytical skills and attention to detail to deliver accurate assessments and facilitate successful project launches. Mr. Vanderhoof worked with the business owners to define service strategies, operational priorities, and client delivery expectations, helping establish a new business operation that grew from no self-generated revenue to more than $9 million in awarded revenue in the first year through his estimating management.

Between 2016 and 2022, Mr. Vanderhoof served as a project manager and estimator at Umpqua Roofing Co., Inc., a period that marked a significant chapter in his career development. He managed multiple projects from inception through completion, including the notable reroofing of the Fab 15 building at Intel's original Oregon campus—a project spanning approximately 250,000 square feet with numerous intricate details. As an assisting project manager in this endeavor, he played a key role in estimating costs, managing contracts, and overseeing execution. He later went on to lead the project management of multi-million dollar projects for the Beaverton School District, coordinating the construction and forming business relationships with multiple subcontracting partners and clients. This experience not only broadened his technical acumen but also set him on a new professional trajectory that diverged from his initial academic pursuits.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Vanderhoof worked as a copyeditor for Wipf and Stock Publishers from 2015 to 2016. In this capacity, he honed his skills in written communication and attention to detail by editing manuscripts for publication. His professional journey began as a roofer at Umpqua Roofing Co., Inc. from 2014 to 2015, where he gained hands-on experience in construction and developed foundational knowledge that would inform his later roles in project management and estimation.

Mr. Vanderhoof's educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from the University of Oregon, completed in 2014. Initially pursuing pre-medical studies with aspirations of attending veterinary school, he ultimately chose to enter the workforce after graduation. The analytical training and scientific discipline acquired during his studies have been instrumental throughout his career, enabling him to approach complex challenges methodically and communicate technical concepts effectively.

In addition to his academic credentials, Mr. Vanderhoof has earned certifications in genAI and predictive AI architecture foundations, as well as generative AI and predictive AI in the cloud: foundational concepts and scenarios from LinkedIn in 2026.
