Marked by more than a decade of impactful work in multiple fields, Mr. Espinosa currently serves as a board member for Helping Restore Ability, a nonprofit organization in Arlington, Texas, that assists individuals with disabilities. In his capacity, he is dedicated to helping veterans transform their lives, drawing on his own experiences and expertise in public relations and military outreach. He also contributes his skills in photography and media support to further the organization's mission of empowering those in need.

Since 2024, Mr. Espinosa has also been an ambassador and warfighter athlete for Move United, the largest sanctioned organization dedicated to adaptive sports. Through this position, he advocates for adaptive athletes and promotes inclusivity in sports, leveraging his personal journey as an athlete that began in 2017.

Also in 2017, Mr. Espinosa officially launched SemperShutter as a freelance photographer, having begun his photography journey in 2010. Photography became a source of solace and connection following his military service, particularly after he sustained a traumatic brain injury and coped with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). While he initially found fulfillment in capturing moments and telling stories through his lens, he later faced challenges in balancing client demands with his creative passion. Nevertheless, his work as a photographer remains an important aspect of his professional identity.

Mr. Espinosa's distinguished military career began with service in the United States Marine Corps from 1997 to 2003. After sustaining a knee injury and experiencing severe PTSD, he transitioned to the United States Army in 2004 due to his infantry background. Serving as a sergeant until 2008, he demonstrated exceptional leadership and resilience during deployments, including a pivotal moment while operating an unmanned aerial vehicle on his birthday. On that day, he and his team captured critical footage north of Baghdad that identified individuals burying improvised explosive devices on a main road; the intelligence gathered from this operation saved many lives and stands as one of his proudest achievements.

Academically, Mr. Espinosa has completed coursework equivalent to a bachelor's degree and earned a certificate in photography from Austin Community College in 2015, which provided foundational skills that propelled his success as a professional photographer. In addition, he was certified as a journeyman in electrical and electronics maintenance and repair technology by STRAC Institute in 2022 and in welding technology by Central Texas College in 2024, further diversifying his skill set.

Reflecting on his storied journey to date, Mr. Espinosa attributes his multidisciplinary achievements to the unwavering support of his wife of more than 20 years, the resilience forged through overcoming trauma, and his deep faith in God. Also a proud father of three children, he values his family above all else and enjoys playing adaptive sports, traveling and learning new things.

Looking toward the future, Mr. Espinosa hopes to travel with his wife to explore various destinations — especially Japan — and eagerly anticipates watching his son graduate from college with aspirations of becoming an officer in the United States Air Force. He remains committed to advancing his photography while continuing to make meaningful nonprofit contributions that positively impact the lives of his fellow veterans and others in need through advocacy and service.
