HOLLYWOOD, FL, June 03, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Amy Salanty, MSN, RN, PMHNP-BC, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Salanty has developed clinical experience in outpatient psychiatry at Blue Umbrella Psychiatry in Davie, Florida, where she has trained and continued building her psychiatric practice experience since January 2025 under the supervision of Dr. Eric Robbins. In this capacity, she continues to refine her clinical acumen and expand her practical knowledge, actively engaging with patients several days each week while seeking her first official nurse practitioner role. Her responsibilities include managing complex medication regimens, overseeing patient flow, assisting colleagues with challenging cases and providing direct support to families navigating mental health care. Ms. Salanty's commitment to an integrated, person-centered approach is evident in her ongoing pursuit of advanced qualifications to address both medical and psychiatric needs concurrently.

Her journey into psychiatric care was preceded by a rigorous academic clinical rotation at Blue Umbrella Psychiatry from January 2025 until her graduation in September 2025. During this period, Ms. Salanty balanced the demands of her advanced studies with hands-on patient care, further solidifying her expertise in mental health.

Before she transitioned into psychiatry, Ms. Salanty built a robust foundation in critical care and nursing leadership. From 2019 to 2024, she served as a surgical intensive care nurse at AdventHealth Daytona, providing high-acuity care to critically ill patients and honing her skills in neurology and intensive care nursing. A steadfast dedication to patient outcomes and interdisciplinary collaboration marked her tenure at AdventHealth.

From 2017 to 2019, Ms. Salanty worked as a long-term care nurse at Courtenay Springs Village in Merritt Island, Florida. In this role, she managed postoperative recovery and rehabilitation for patients transitioning out of surgery, ensuring continuity of care during vulnerable periods.

Her leadership abilities were particularly evident during her time as a surgical intensive care nurse at Wuesthoff Medical Center in Melbourne, Florida, from 2016 to 2017. As the night-shift assistant manager for a 12-bed medical intensive care unit, she directed scheduling, monitored staff compliance with continuing education requirements and co-led departmental meetings. She also acted as a primary responder for emergency codes and trauma cases entering the emergency room, stabilizing patients and coordinating transfers to larger trauma centers when necessary. One of Ms. Salanty's most significant professional achievements occurred during this period when she was called upon to manage the care of a critically ill patient over six consecutive days. Despite the challenges of the case—including calling a code and successfully resuscitating the patient—she considers her greatest accomplishment to be addressing the social needs of the patient's family and helping them feel comfortable within the hospital environment. Her ongoing relationship with this family stands as a testament to her holistic approach to nursing.

From 2010 to 2016, Ms. Salanty served as a trauma intensive care nurse at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, the only state-accredited trauma center in Brevard County and a Level II trauma center, where she provided specialized care to patients with severe injuries and complex medical conditions. Her earlier experience includes serving as a medical-surgical nurse at Florida Hospital Memorial Center from 2009 to 2010 and as a surgical intensive care nurse at Parrish Medical Center from 2005 to 2009.

Throughout her career, Ms. Salanty has demonstrated expertise in neurology and intensive care nursing—fields in which she is recognized for her depth of knowledge and commitment to excellence. She is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Association for Nurse Practitioners, the American Psychiatric Nurses Association, the American Nurses Association and the Florida Nurses Association.

Ms. Salanty's educational background has been instrumental in shaping her career trajectory. She earned a master's degree in psychiatric/mental health nursing from Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, in 2025, after completing coursework emphasizing integrated mental health treatment modalities. She previously obtained a Bachelor of Science from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia. Drawing from an extensive twenty-seven-year career as an intensive care unit nurse, Ms. Salanty developed deep expertise in neurology. This specialized focus inspired her transition into mental health practice. She attributes her success to the unwavering support of family and friends as well as her own determination and perseverance.

Beyond her professional commitments, Ms. Salanty is civically engaged as a volunteer with the American Red Cross in Disaster Health Services and Disaster Mental Health Services, reflecting her dedication to service both within and outside clinical settings.

In her personal life, Ms. Salanty enjoys spending time with her husband, Dave—a 21-year Navy veteran—and their blended family of four independent children: two sons of her own, aged 21 and 24, along with Dave's 24-year-old daughter and his 16-year-old son. The family takes advantage of their walkable location in Hollywood, Florida, by attending local band performances together whenever possible. Ms. Salanty also finds joy in dancing around the house, knitting, reading, traveling around the world and watching television.

Looking ahead, Ms. Salanty plans to return to school to earn an adult-geriatric nurse practitioner degree, so she can further address both medical and mental health needs of older adults through an integrated approach that exceeds current scope-of-practice limitations for psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioners. She also aspires to establish an independent private practice and obtain nursing licenses in multiple states to provide comprehensive care nationwide.

Ms. Salanty's career reflects not only clinical excellence but also compassion for patients' holistic well-being, a legacy underscored by decades of service across diverse healthcare environments and continued dedication to lifelong learning and professional growth.
