NAPA, CA, June 04, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Pemba Sherpa has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Sherpa's professional journey is marked by a steady progression through diverse roles in the hospitality and real estate sectors, culminating in his current position as the co-owner of La Casa de Sonoma since 2015. Under his leadership, the restaurant has thrived as one of Sonoma County's oldest Mexican dining establishments, originally founded in 1969.

Alongside three partners, Mr. Sherpa has managed La Casa de Sonoma for more than a decade, making this ownership group the longest-running operators in its history. His responsibilities encompass management of inventory and procurement, oversight of payroll and tax administration, legal compliance and comprehensive financial management across all six restaurants under his purview.

In addition to La Casa de Sonoma, Mr. Sherpa owns and operates five other restaurant locations throughout Northern California. These include Yak & Yeti in Napa, which offers Indian, Nepalese and Tibetan cuisine; Himalayan Kitchen Marin in San Rafael; two Everest Restaurants located in Petaluma and Cotati; and he is currently acquiring Shangri-La in Cotati, an established business with a 25-year legacy. Each location benefits from Mr. Sherpa's expertise in financial administration, human resource management and daily operations oversight.

Mr. Sherpa's career also includes experience as a part-time realtor in Sonoma County from 2008 to 2016. During this period, he successfully closed approximately 10 real estate transactions, demonstrating adaptability during the economic downturn of the late 2000s. Prior to his real estate work, he spent two years as an 18-wheeler truck driver traversing 48 states across the United States, a role that required resilience and adaptability but ultimately led him back to his passion for the culinary arts.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Sherpa worked as a chef at Indian and Nepalese restaurants beginning in 2004, following initial roles as a server and busser at an Indian restaurant during the early 2000s. He also gained hands-on experience as a cook for two years before advancing to chef positions. Throughout these formative years, he developed a deep understanding of restaurant operations from the ground up.

A recognized expert in financial management, human resource management, problem-solving and adaptability within the restaurant industry, Mr. Sherpa is praised for his ability to navigate unexpected challenges while maintaining operational excellence. His membership with Sonoma's Sherpa Restaurateurs further reflects his commitment to professional growth and industry collaboration.

Mr. Sherpa's educational background laid the foundation for his achievements. He earned a bachelor's degree in business management with a concentration in finance and accounting from Global College of Management in Kathmandu, Nepal, in 2000. Complementing this academic achievement, he completed a culinary education focused on cooking and hotel management with an emphasis on Indian and Nepalese cuisine that same year. In 2008, he became a licensed realtor, which enabled him to diversify his professional pursuits.

Mentorship has played a significant role throughout Mr. Sherpa's career. Influenced by mentors during his own development, he now serves as a role model to his employees, having managed teams exceeding 70 individuals across his businesses. He encourages staff to view their employment as an opportunity for practical education, likening it to a "free college," and takes pride in seeing former employees establish their own successful restaurants after learning under his guidance.

Civic engagement is integral to Mr. Sherpa's ethos. He served as a board member of the California Sherpa Association for five years, contributing to efforts that preserve Buddhist culture and tradition within the community. Additionally, he has been an active donor to the Himalayan Sherpa Club of Sonoma and has provided consistent financial support to local charities, clubs and non-governmental organizations over many years.

In 2017, Mr. Sherpa helped organize a month-long promotion celebrating the 50th anniversary of La Casa de Sonoma. This initiative raised approximately $10,000 for local organizations, including Pets Lifeline, the Boys & Girls Club of Sonoma Valley and the La Luz Center.

Mr. Sherpa's philanthropic efforts have been recognized by both the California Sherpa Association and the Himalayan Sherpa Club of Sonoma through multiple honors acknowledging his annual donations. Despite these accolades, he prefers discretion over public recognition, often making contributions anonymously out of a genuine desire to support those in need.

Beyond his contributions to Sonoma County's civic and nonprofit landscape, Mr. Sherpa's professional accomplishments have also garnered broader recognition; Yak & Yeti was featured on KQED's "Check, Please! Bay Area," highlighting its impact within the regional culinary scene.

Born in Thame, a village situated above Namche Bazaar near Mount Everest in Nepal, Mr. Sherpa was raised among renowned mountaineers at an altitude of approximately 35,000 feet. This upbringing instilled resilience and curiosity that continue to drive him today.

Outside of work, Mr. Sherpa enjoys home improvement projects and do-it-yourself repairs as avenues for continual learning. His primary hobby is playing pickleball each morning, a pursuit that not only provides personal enjoyment but also serves as a networking platform where he builds relationships with fellow players who often become patrons at his restaurants. He values fostering supportive community dynamics rooted in mutual assistance.

Looking ahead, Mr. Sherpa is dedicated to expanding his business ventures while pursuing his lifelong ambition of becoming a pilot, a dream inspired by watching aircraft soar above his childhood village in Nepal. Having already obtained his student pilot permit and completed necessary physical examinations, he remains committed to achieving this goal through perseverance and hard work.
