Intensity, he insists, is the bedrock of his career, one that started with a triple threat of degrees from North Dakota State University: a bachelor's degree in environmental design in 2006, followed by a master's degree in architecture and a bachelor's in history in 2007.

His theoretical ground was solid. But then came the real-world trial. Reality, like a slap across the face. He graduated and started working, only to be hamstrung by the 2008 recession. Walker then lost his job, his stable income. He thinks maybe a part of his peace of mind.

Walker spent the next several years in a spin cycle of jobs across Iowa and Texas. Friends and family questioned if he was the right fit for architecture or if architecture was the right fit for him. In the face of adversity, the conviction he'd held since he was 15 never wavered.

A closed path? Well, he would find a way to open it. He called the eventual earning of his professional licensure the "top of the mountain." The key that finally unlocked every closed door and the way forward. The path had been shut no more.

A PRACTICAL EVOLUTION
The same chutzpah that drove him through the licensing process never left him. It infuses every project even today.

In 2010, Walker established Evolve 4D. What once started as a side hustle would eventually turn into a flourishing business.

Then, in 2018, everything changed.

Walker's relentless pursuit to annihilate problems spilled over into another area of the profession: He realized he could help others navigate the same grueling journey he'd completed. And so, he began selling one-page study sheets initially created for his own use.

By 2019, this evolved into writing full-length practice exams. Walker's work in architecture and education dovetailed as precisely as his architectural design.
